Nice hotel in South Tahoe Stopped for the night on our way to condo in North Tahoe. Friendly staff and nice room with comfy bed and pillows. Situated in the heart of Heavenly lots to do…shopping and restaurants a plenty! Tried to do the gondola ride, but we got there just as it closed at 4 pm. Free breakfast and a nice pool. Great location….and..it was nice and quiet as it was set back off the main road. Definitely recommend!

Worst IHG stay I've ever had! Booked a 2 queen size bed room but the beds were obviously full size, the staff were not helpful at all with this. The front desk said they would give me welcome points (upon asking) for being Platinum member at IHG but I never received it. There was a black bear at the door when we got back in the evening and we were frightened. Filed a complaint to IHG about the bed size and went back and forth a few times, and nothing was useful. They claimed that the beds were queen size according to hotel management, but if anyone from IHG goes in and measure it they would clearly see the beds were NOT queen size. No more IHG Holiday Inn Express for me. Very disappointed about this experience and how IHG handled this situation!

Avoid the laundry building. This was a strange experience for one of the two days we stayed here. We were in the 300 building, and our room's floor, our furniture, the bed and a fair expanse of the walkway outside our room (which was on the 3rd level) were all vibrating for hours during the day and into the evenings. It took a while to find out that the commercial laundry for the hotel (where the sheets and towels, etc. are washed) was on the first level of this building, and they were using the largest washers and dryers I have ever seen, causing really noticable shaking even on the 3rd level. One of the maintennce guys said they stop doing the laundry at 9 p.m. They did not, so we went to the front desk and asked to be moved, which they did for us the next day. The second room was in a different building, and nothing was shaking. It was actually a much bigger and nicer room, too. My advice is to avoid the 300 building altogether. Other than that, the staff were polite and breakfast was fine.

A solid hotel (suite) at a good location The hotel is centrally located on the main road in Stateline (California side). It is close to the lake and many restaurants. Interaction with the front desk staff at check in and check out were friendly and professional. We had a sizable two-room suite with two king beds, which is an unusual setup. It was good for a family of 4. We think there are two of these suites total at the property. The room was clean and functional with good lighting array and options. The bathroom had two sinks, a walk-in shower and a tub-based shower. One area that the bathroom could improve is to have a night light setting. Although the room was directly above a driveway / underpass linking the front and back parking lot, noise was not an issue. We enjoyed the heated pool and the hot tub, although there was a slight inconsistency on the posted hours v. the hours mentioned by the front desk staff. Breakfast buffet was good and in line with other Holiday Inn express hotels. We also appreciate that there is no extra charge for parking.

Solo Trip. Nice Hotel. Spur of the moment solo trip to South Lake Tahoe. I intentionally did not book a hotel room before I left from my SF Bay Area home on a Monday morning expecting to snag a reasonable rate for a 1 night hotel stay on a weekday. I had seen this hotel on YouTube and I knew this hotel would be on the top 3 on my personal choices once I arrived in South Lake Tahoe. Walked in to the lobby, was greeted by the nice front desk female employee. I asked how much for 1 night and the price she quoted was about 2 1/2 times what I saw online. She suggested to me to book my room online instead and I got a reasonable price through a third party site. She was kind enough to let me check in early. Hotel room is on the small side but since this was a solo trip, I had enough space for myself. Clean room, modern and clean bathroom, bed and pillows were comfortable. Bathroom amenities were quite sparse, I would not have been happy had I pad the much higher weekend price. This hotel’s location is a walking distance to shopping and food establishments on the California and across the stateline into Nevada. I must say I am happy for the weekday price I paid.
