Great location for cruising Spent one night here after dropping off relatives on a midday cruise. Its about 5/10min walk max from the Ocean Cruise Terminal for P&O and abt 3/5min drive. We parked the car up, quite big car park although open to all so not sure about safety? cost us £7 booked via the hotel at reception opposed to the £14 is paying at the paypoint stands. Stayed in a Standard King room via booking.com and was pleasantly surprised. Its not your elite hotel but was decent enough and comfortable, plenty roomy and huge king bed (seemed like superking tbh) pillows were a bit rubbish but I al fussy. Good TV and tea/coffee/water provided. Was also a mini fridge there too. Huge wardrobe storage if needed. Bathroom was a little rough in parts but everything worked and shower was lovely and warm and two shower heads (over bath) made plenty of pressure. Basic handwash (was empty) and showergel and lotions no shampoos provided. Bottle dispensers read White Company but clearly not and just filled up. Did use the pool & Jacuzzi. Didnt use the gym, sauna or steam but all were free for guests. Pool is in need of desperate upgrades but was okay for what it was - high chlorine levels tho so take care. Could feel it on skin and see the debris in jacuzzi (which was excessively hot) some seats around pool to sit. We went at end of night 7-8pm so was quiet, kids can use pool in afternoons so i imagine v busy then. Breakfast was lovely, clean fresh plenty of choice for everyone. Had room service of one pizza and two cokes can to £34 but we knew it was going to be expensive we were just too tired to go back out and didnt want full meal. Town was about 5/10min stroll seemed to be lots of places to eat and usual shops etc. Do try The Pig in the wall directly opposite in the roundabout - v nice food/cakes drinks (also licensed bar) was v nice especially sitting outside on sunny afternoon. All in all would stay again wasn’t worth the £175 for one night but suited our needs.

RATS Although clean inside the hotel is a little dated. The spa is okay but the jacuzzi does not work and there is no steam or sauna which you would expect in a hotel of this rating. RATS outside on the terrace, we saw 4 in 10 minutes and other gusts were complaining. Actually a big concern from a hygiene perspective and kids were outside. Nobody sat outside for long was disgusting. The hotel said the council are t doing anything and were not concerned. The hotel needs to get some pest control pretty quickly YUK! Really put us off.

Wonderful Place Wonderful hotel with superb, professional staff. Can not recommend this place highly enough. Would not hesitate to return if I ever return to Southampton. First Class location. Excellent, friendly and professional staff too. Just first class.

Just What We Needed for a Pre-Cruise Hotel This will be a short review. We were in Southampton for one night before leaving on a cruise the next day. What we needed was a hotel that was convenient to the harbor, had restaurants and shopping within and easy walking distance, had comfortable beds and quiet rooms, offered nice breakfast options, felt safe and was a reasonable price for this short and highly functional stopover. This hotel met every one of those needs. Exactly what you want before setting off on a voyage. Would I stay there for any other reason – no. Would I stay there again if leaving on another cruise out of Southampton – most definitely.

Could Use A little TLC My husband booked a Junior Suite for two nights prior to our cruise. This room has a spacious balcony but we did have to call and ask for the cushions for the chairs. They should have been in the room upon our arrival. Room was a little outdated. Showing some wear and tear. Bed was very comfortable. The biggest issue that we had was the shower. The bathroom was huge that included a jetted tub for two but the shower was literally 24x24 inches and you had a slight step down when entering. It was tiny compared to the large bathroom. Think of a small phone booth. We also had an issue with their bar Leo’s. The bar tender did not know how to make a simple vodka martini and really could have cared less. The hotel is centrally located. Especially for cruise passengers but for the price that we paid, we expected better. We had a room reserved to stay another night in between our cruises but we canceled and moved to the Harbour Hotel. A much nicer experience overall. This hotel has potential but needs a little work. By the way, the front desk personnel were very nice and helpful.
