Great Remote Work Stay in Daphne / Spanish Fort AL I wanted to thank the Marriott Courtyard Spanish Fort / Daphne AL for my enjoyable remote work stay (9 days). The service was more than I expected along with the truly southern hospitality that you hear and read about. I had a suite that worked perfectly for my remote work arrangement. The room was quiet, well appointed. The room along with the whole hotel include surrounding grounds was extremely clean and maintained (see attach Pic’s). No matter what I needed and or questions I may have had where all handled in a timely manner. The only FYI, due to the current restraints around covid there was limited breakfast items available. There is a simple work around, there are many nearby places to eat within 2 miles or less. Thanks to the entire staff starting with Glyndon (not sure of the spelling) and the check-in staff, housekeeping, followed by the morning breakfast team, then ending the stay with a fast check out. All was superb!

One of the worst Courtyards I've even stayed at Made reservation for 2 nights. Upon checkin, employee says "staying with us one night?" No, two nights. "I will fix that." next day, hotel rings my phone off the hook to find out why we did not check out. "I will fix that." Oh, and we didn't have a microwave in our room. "I will fix that." We get back to the room to find no microwave and room was not cleaned. Why? Oh, during covid, you must ask us to clean." No one told us that. We also did not get the extra towels I requested when I booked. "Oh, let me get that." Checking out - "Do you need a receipt?" Well, I paid with points, but yes, please. Receipt has only Balance due $0.00. Days later, my credit card is charge for both nights. Called cc company. I will have someone call you within 5 days. I check my cc and find charges gone. I get my bill. There are charges in addition to using my points. Never got a call from hotel. Now I must dispute charge on my bill. The ineptness of this hotel is indescribable. Minimal staff. Rooms just okay. Did I feel cared for? Absolutely not. Would I stay again. No way.

Just Okay This Courtyard is okay for a short stay. It's starting to show some age and needs updates. The paint on the ceiling above the tub in the bathroom was cracking and peeling off. There was some blackish looking stuff around the corner of the ceiling above the bathtub. There was only a tiny bar of soap in the bathroom and no lotion anywhere to be found. There was a coffee maker in the room but NO COFFEE anywhere to be found. Why put a coffee maker in the room and no coffee??? The room itself was clean. Due to Covid, the whirlpool was closed although there was no mention of this on their website. However the pool was open. Overall, this hotel is just okay, nothing spectacular.

Does Covid Precautions Mean You Just Get a Room and Nothing Else? The place was clean, modern, quick check-in and everything you would expect from Marriott....except there was nothing in the room. No coffee machine, no shampoo, no guide to TV channels, no breakfast of any kind, no explanation from staff as to why...nothing but a bar of soap at a sink. If this is the direction Marriott is going with room management, I'm probably staying elsewhere. If not, I might give them another try.

Horrendous I was never concerned for the safety of your hotel. I was on the other hand concerned for the safety of my wife and child who stayed at a hotel with ZERO people working at the time of check in, 9:15 PM. No one working the front desk, no one working at the bar. No security.... In the 23 years of being a Marriott rewards member and a Lifetime Platinum member me nor my wife have ever witnessed this from a Marriott hotel chain. We have stayed in numerous Courtyards and to not have a single person in the facility, Covid or not is just beyond me.  Room had feathered pillows and we couldn't even get replacements. They went to bed on their one foam pillow only to find the beds had no blankets only sheets.  Nothing they could do about it. Went down the next morning to get the vouchers rhe 10 dollar voucher for being a Platinum member and the now working front desk clerk said they didn't get one because they were on government rate. But they would allow them to have a voucher for pastries. My wife went back and said she wanted our platinum voucher and the front desk lady tried to say the voucher she gave my son was better but would give them the other voucher.  I know as well as she does that you either get points or a 10 dollar voucher,, GOVERNMENT RATE OR NOT. Its called a Rewards Program.....Horrendous stay. Slept on beds with one pillow and no blankets. Waited 45 mins to get checked into the hotel. Front desk staff the next morning was clueless.  Should have been making every attempt to rectify the night before instead of having attitude.  Was just an insane experience that we have never witnessed at a Marriott or ANY hotel chain in our lives. That hotel had been unmanned since at least 5pm.  That was when they said the last desk clerk left for the day.  How was there not a single employee in the building? A manager? Anyone? Thankful for the Fairfield Inn employee who at least checked them in for the night.  If it was say 6 PM and not a soul in site, I would have told my wife and son to just walk right back out the door and just go somewhere else. I cannot for the life of me think whoever is the manager or owner of this Courtyard would not be firing people over this. Usually I get an immediate email to take a survey,  which I have been waiting for, but miraculously I never received that email. So I am emailing this to you and I WILL be contacting every person I can throughout the Marriott chain. I have written one, count it one negative review in 23 years of staying at Marriott properties.  This will now be my second,  but by far the worst.... I am absolutely dumbfounded to hear my wife tell me all the things that was and went wrong that night.
