DISGUSTING HOTEL....Stay FAR FAR away OK, so I've been waiting to see if the company would step up and refund our money for the hotel we left in Spokane Valley before posting but they are refusing so here is the story. On Friday 4/5/24, we booked a room at HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof Spokane Valley. We were checked in to the room long enough to take our baggage up and take a quick look (maybe 10-15 minutes max) before we went back to the office to try to get a refund and cancel the 2 nights we had booked. The room wasn't just run down, it was completely disgusting. I have plenty of pictures that I will post. The least worrisome was the holes in the comforter and missing light fixture in the hallway next to the elevator. From there it gets WAY worse. The buttons on the elevator look like they have NEVER seen a rag or water. The curtains in other windows walking down to our room had large spots of orange and brown stains on the back of them. Once we got to our room the door and the door frame look like they have also NEVER seen a rag or water. Getting into the room there was an immediate smell of mold/mildew. There were at least 3 to 4 holes in the comforter on the bed. Looking around there were black and brown spots on our "clean" bath towels. There were brown spots of who knows what all over the shower floor/soap shelf. There was a liquid line coming down from behind the bathroom mirror towards the sink. The sink was dirty and there was BLACK MOLD all the way down the grout of the shower base. Every wall in the room was dirty and the inside of the door was completely disgusting along with something brown all down the bottom of the door frame. We got a room with a kitchenette so we could possibly cook something instead of just eating out. The kitchen area wasn't just dirty but it was unusable. There was grease and food chunks all over the wall around the stove top. The stove top was totally rusted out and didn't look safe to use. The knobs on the stove were gray/brown like they haven't been cleaned in who knows how long. The countertop was broken and the cabinets were dirty. When we opened the cabinet under the sink in the kitchenette the mold/mildew smell in the room got 100 times worse. After seeing enough of this we went down to the office trying to cancel the reservation. We waited to speak to the lady until the other people in the office that came in after us were done checking in, in order to not cause a scene in front of other customers. When speaking to her she said she wasn't allowed to authorize refunds so she would have to reach out to her manager and we would also have to contact priceline since we booked through them. Ok we can be patient so we went upstairs and took pictures and got our stuff out of the room and called priceline. We were told by priceline that there was no cancelation available because the hotel didn't allow it. We weren't going to stay no matter what. We went back to the office and the lady in the office said that "Don't tell anyone that I was the one that said this but Priceline can at least cancel the second day for you". She also said that her manager said no to refunding that day because we had already checked in. Please tell me how we could know how bad the room was before we checked in. It's not like they put those pictures on the site when trying to get people to book them. Anyways, we called Priceline again who put us on hold to contact the hotel in order to get confirmation that they were ok with refunding the second day. Go figure, they wouldn't answer the phone to talk to priceline. So the next day priceline got in contact with the hotel who unsurprisingly said they were not ok with priceline canceling the reservation for/refunding the second day. So after many days of back and forth they have finally agreed to refund the second day but still won't refund the first night because we "checked in". We spent MAYBE a grand total of an hour at that hotel. That included the time waiting to talk to the lady in the office and the time trying to contact priceline and taking pictures. Thankfully we were able to book another room through another company that was WAY better, so we weren't stuck there and our trip wasn't totally ruined. We didn't want to immediately put this out there in case the hotel stepped up and took care of our situation but they have refused and now the reviews will start. So anyone going to Spokane, stay FAR FAR away from the Hometowne Studios in Spokane Valley.

Awful, do not stay here Do not book this hotel! I would rate it less than 1 if I could. We checked in, saw our room, and immediately checked out. It was absolutely filthy. It seems like the hotel is being used as a homeless camp…no joke. I would sleep in my car before I would sleep in that room.

What? This is not a highly rated Trip Advisor hotel. Don’t go! Don’t be mislead like we were. We were searching quickly for a hotel and this one at the time was #2 on the list. Ugh. We checked in and and checked out right away. Broken toilet, broken dresser, dirty passageways. We couldn’t get away fast enough.

Whole Experience sucked!! Incompetent employees. Booked on booking.com site for 30 days. I get a call the day I was to check in that i can only stay for 2 weeks check out then come back after 24 hrs check back in. When come to find out people have been staying there for years! Like really?! After a few days the key cards quit working so had to go get them recoded a few time during my stay. Then they knocking on my door at 6 pm at night telling me they didnt charge my card enough the first time so had to pay more. Then they checked me out a day earlier than i reserved for. Went there after work to relax they had my stuff down in office. So was checked out on the 12 said it would take 5-7 days to get back. Waited 7 days nothing back. Went in again they said sorry you will have it 3-5 days so I waited the 7 days since that is what they told me in the beginning. Nothing so went back again third time and they said have to wait 5-7 days. DO NO STAY THERE!!

Wow! I'll give 1 star because some of the employees are amazing. However the GM Sophia barrutia is a shady person. She lies, manipulates, opens and throws away guests mail, fights guests and employees, fights with her bf nightly (they live in the building, in the apt above us.)overall treats her staff like crap. The complex is dirty and smells like human pee daily. The only time it was cleaned in the 2 months she has been GM was a couple days ago for the health inspector. Sophia enters rooms while guests are away, they are rented by guests and occupied. Sophia has ordered her staff to remove a paid guests items and then when Sophia realized she was going to be in trouble she made the maids put everything back before the guests arrived back to realize whay happened. Half the rooms ammenties in the entire building such as stoves, heaters and microwaves do not work and Sophia refuses to have anything fixed. Sophia does not allow her staff to be friendly to the guests, Sophia is very mean to children and animals. Sophia berates children, and she waits for the parents to not be around to do so. This GM also has active warrants and open DUI cases as well as assault cases in AZ. She smells of alcohol while on the job.. This is not a family friendly facility at all with this pereon in charge. All the friendly staff quit because they could not tolerate the abuse towards guests and themselves any longer.
