Beautiful property, horrible housekeeping The hotel is located in the heart of downtown surrounded by gorgeous historic buildings. The lobby makes you feel as if you were transported to Spain. The hotel restaurant did a great job incorporating Spanish flavors on their menu. The hotel is experiencing shortage in housekeeping staff. When we arrived at the hotel at 3:30pm, we were told our room is unavailable but we are getting a BIGGER and BETTER room on the 4th floor and it will be ready in 30 mins. We decided to take a walk around downtown while we wait for our room to be ready. We got rained on during our walk and ran back to the hotel around 4:15, expecting the room to be ready - but it was not. The front desk couldn't get ahold of housekeeping and no one knew the status of the room. The front desk was very nice and offered us towels because we were soaking wet from getting caught in the rain. We asked for a status of the room at 4:45pm, 5:15pm, and 5:45pm. By that time we were fed up and decided to eat at the the hotel restaurant (great food and service!). While we were eating, the front desk informed us that the room is ready and they can send our luggage up. When I saw the room number it was on the 3rd floor, not the 4th. We were told this room is even better than the one promised.... The room on the 3rd floor was extremely tiny. When we entered the room at 6:15pm, we noticed something on the sheets and asked for the bedding to be changed. We waited for at least an hour, then decided to leave the hotel to go exploring. We arrived at the hotel around 9:30pm expecting the bedding to be changed, it was not. The front desk told us that they are sending someone right up, it wasn't until 10:30pm that someone arrived to change our sheets. The front desk did accommodate by offering us a breakfast voucher, restaurant voucher, and free parking. However, as a Marriott Titanium Elite member, I expected better service and rooms from this beautiful hotel.

Too pricey for the conditions they offer! Considering the pricing for this hotel and the fact that the hotel is to be more of a high end hotel, Casa Monica is dissapointing. The toilet was not properly clean, i had to clean it myself with clorox wipes as remaining of urine were visible. The toiletries were not enough for 4 people, were enough for 1 person. The pool was extremely dirty, in bad shape (i could feel cracks of the ground pool under my feet), not to say that in one area were lots of dead ants in the pool. The champagne offered at check in, although a nice gesture and following covid regulations being offered in a small bottle, was anything but good. You could tell is a very cheap sparkling wine under the champagne pretence. The staff has been very nice thou. The only thing that saved the day was the staff being courteous and helpful. Unfortunately, just for the staff i do not think i would stay at this hotel again. It is too pricey for the conditions that is offering. Forgot to mention that the carpet in the room was dirty. I would not expect this run down conditions from a hotel of Casa Monica caliber.

Newer will be back. I am absolutely disappointed and discouraged to come back. We have been in this hotel few times before. It's a second time the room was not ready at the time of arrival. It's second time our luggage was not delivered in the room on time. We went for walk, and came back to dinner at 9 pm in hotel just to know, that they are full and closed kitchen for room service. It's pouring rain,so I will have to order pizza for my husband's Bday ... I will not come back. You,guys ,closed the kitchen, but my bed is not ready. The TV is not working. I paid for my suite and I expected something more from my getaway. Last time they made a lot of mistakes and " repaired it with free breakfast, theyr customer service manager was absolutely remarkable. But this time I just desided do not come back. Overall, the city really disappointed me, because restaurants closing early, they are full and most of them are closed permanently. I guess,I will wait an other year or 2,before I'll comeback here. P.S. The house keeping had to come back to bring more pillows, apparently they don't know,we have more then 2 people in the room. Overall-hotel doesn't have a class like it use to be. P.S.S The guy ,that came to do our bed,is the maintenance guy. Apparently, they are short staffed to that extreme...5 stars to the maintenance guy Joseph. 1 star to hotel. I am having for dinner tonight jawkilling dry " welcome " vine from hotel with some kilvins chocolates I ( what a luck!) we picked on the way...Happy Bday ,hubby...

Anniversary Stay Been to St. Augustine many times but had never stayed here. Finally did it for our 26th wedding anniversary at the end of July. Wonderful hotel with a very friendly and accommodating staff. Centrally located downtown that makes it easy to walk everywhere or catch one of the local tour trains. Umbrella tables outside make for an excellent place to people watch with a cup of coffee or drink from the bar. (note, try the St. Augustine Gin & Tonic). Had lunch at the St. Augustine Fish Camp and dinner at O.C. Whites, both an easy walk from the hotel.
