GREAT for stay for convention center We were part of a large meeting group at the convention center just across the street from Hotel. While there were hundreds of us, the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Elevators quick and never crowded as people kindly observed the requests to keep them NOT crowded. Rooms very clean and spacious for a large hotel. Our BEST experience was talking daily with one of the Bellman, 'Moze" (not sure of spelling!) who was the most helpful man of the week! He was kind, funny, professional and VERY knowledgeable of the area and full of recommendations for us to enjoy his town. We looked forward to seeing him each day and he made us feel at home while we stayed there. He is an asset to this hotel and made our week SO pleasant!! THANKS to him and others who work hard in a post-epidemic era in which finding people to work is difficult!

I liked it! Please allow me to mention the one negative first. Hoping to be able to see the River, I requested a room on a high floor with a view. I did receive a high floor-with a view of a brick wall. I guess I should have been more specific. This "view" allowed no sunlight and made my room dim and gloomy. Otherwise,, my room was quite nice. It had all the basic amenities and a large bathroom. I purchased some half and half at a local store, and the in-room coffee was even drinkable. The TV had Net Flix! I was able to watch an episode of Atypical on one slow evening. I believe housekeeping is only available upon request as they did not clean my room during my stay. I really did not mind except that my trash and recycling accumulated a bit. The lobby is very nice, and I enjoyed an evening at the bar area with my colleagues. $10.00 for an IPA draft is a bit dear, but I suppose that is the going rate. My conference had meals, and I therefore did not try either of the restaurants. A Starbucks is located just off the lobby. The Hotel location is superb. I walked to the Arch, the River, multiple parks, and a nice variety of small restaurants. A fully stocked grocery/drug store is just behind the Hotel. The rooms for my conference-large and small-were very nice, and all the AV equipment worked well. The trip from the lobby to the conference area takes you through a series of byzantine elevators, escalators, and stairs. I only really learned my way by day three. The best feature of the Hotel is the Peleton in the gym. Even with the strap for one pedal missing, the Peleton bike is leagues better than the other boring workout equipment, and it allowed my exercise regime to stay on track while I was away from home.

Avoid at all cost This hotel either forgot or never knew what it takes to satisfy customers. As a titanium member in an empty hotel I was given a tiny room in the back of the hotel… very far from elevators. The room was not clean. Hair everywhere. Wifi is ok. Air conditioner in room wakes you up every time it starts and every time it stops.. it could not be louder. I can verify other complaints about water pressure, but at least water was hot. Valet for $40 is very steep. Very limited breakfast options. Not clear what’s included for status breakfast. No buffet. Lounge closed. Starbucks closed. Remember the old holiday inns with “holidome”??? That’s what this place is like. Great gym. That’s the only redeeming feature. Avoid at all cost. My stay was free with vouchers and that’s too much!

Mediocre experience Mediocre experience. We have stayed at a lot of Marriotts. This was the worst. Asked for a room away from elevator. They moved us to a room next to service elevator. Air conditioner was extremely loud. The place seemed run down. Mattress had a big stain on it. The staff were extremely friendly and everyone is trying during reopening but we will pick a different hotel in downtown St Louis next time.

Not clean My first room had hair in the shower, hair on the toilet seat and hair on the bathroom vanity counter. The bottom fitted sheet was wrinkled so much that it looked like it was never changed and the wrong pillows were on the bed. An hour later I was given a new room. The new room still had hair in the shower and the wrong pillows -- not the ones specified on my reservation. This hotel has zero attention to details and couldn't care about elites. While plenty of other St. Louis hotels have fully reopened with 100% restoration of services and amenities, the same can't be same for the Marriott St. Louis Grand. Management is bad. I ended up going to another hotel. Nobody seemed to care. Avoid.
