Dinner, a black tie event, and the best night of sleep we've had in weeks!! We went to Skamania Lodge for an overnight birthday getaway in the gorge. After a busy day playing golf in the very hot sun, we checked into our very nice (and cool!) room that faced the river. After settling in we went to the River Rock Lounge and watched as a wedding happened - what a special event to witness! It was still very warm after we ate, and we were a bit tired from a busy day, so we decided to take a nap and check out the grounds after it cooled down. We pulled the black out shades, and fell asleep until the next morning! We pulled up the shade and watched the sunrise over the mountain. Spectacular. After a lazy morning we had a nice cup of coffee out by the hot tub before we had to check out for another busy day. All of the staff that we came into contact with were very pleasant, helpful, and made us feel welcome. We will return for another stay when it's not so hot... there's a zipline that we need to check out!

Wonderful Experience But Lacked Privacy We stayed 2-nights in the Tree House unit 701 and everything was amazing and beautiful until our 2nd Saturday day afternoon. My wife and I were lounging on the treehouse deck relaxing and reading our books when suddenly we were interrupted by a wedding group ceremony that took place 6 ft. in front of our tree house deck. Normally marriage ceremonies are to be welcomed and celebrated but we felt the wedding group had no curtesy for our privacy and we decided to leave and go into the town of Stevenson until we knew they would be gone. When we came back the ceremony had moved to the Lodge lawn and pavilion area. We felt the wedding should not have been allowed in several places on the property.

Great Location The grounds are absolutely stunning with gorgeous views. Paid extra for a "fireside" room which I would not recommend as we didn't use the fireplace and I think that location sacrificed the view. The bed was good, not amazing but comfy and the room was pretty clean, maybe just a little dated furnishings/the bathroom.

Poorly trained staff resulting in poor service. Numerous problems with coffee service in lobby, as well as getting room cleaned and other areas. Personnel very flippant and lackadaisical. This is just a reflection of poor management training. And a reflection is that you can clearly see that management is using AI to generate their responses to all the reviews. Clear they do not look at them. Otherwise please mention in your response.

Gorge Glamping This was our first glamping experience and would definitely recommend do it here. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and the resort offered a lot to do. The food and drinks were top notch. Beautiful stay at the Gorge, just be prepared for some train noise.
