Health and safety hazard/Terrible staff/Worst customer service ever!!! I arrived at about 10 pm on 8/22/24 exhausted with my kids in tow to check in after a LONG day at the NY State Fair. Was given a key card envelope with an illegible room number written on it by the Front Desk worker Nelly. I mistakenly went to the wrong room, the key unlocked the door, and the women inside were up in arms that my kids and I unlocked their door and walked into their room. Yes, my key card opened more than one locked room. Scary. I deciphered the handwriting, went to my room; it was filthy, waste bin was not emptied, it smelled too bad to stay in, had a filthy stained chair and light fixtures, and the sheets had burn holes in them. I went down to the lobby and spoke with Nelly at the front desk immediately to ask for a different room and she told me they were booked and there were no other rooms at all. I insisted and repeatedly asked for a supervisor and Nelly suddenly stated there was a room with a single bed that she could put my 14 year old, 11 year old and me in. Unacceptable. I asked for a supervisor and manager repeatedly. Nelly was very rude, acted as though she has full immunity and job security that is free of reprisals and allows her to speak to the customers as she pleases. When she finally phoned the front desk supervisor Rochele using her personal cell phone, Nelly kept interrupting, yelling, called me "old" and lied to the supervisor stating I asked for the manager's and supervisor's personal numbers. I was audio recording the interaction, Nelly knew this, acted this way any way, and please note that in the recording it is clear that at no time did I ask for any staff's personal number. I repeatedly asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and Nelly said that was only possible from 9 am - 3 pm as there is no supervisor or manager available after 3 pm. Seriously? Well, front desk supervisor Rochele got on the phone, repeatedly told Nelly to stop talking and interrupting, which Nelly of course did not. Nelly appeared to have unmet mental health issue as evident by demeaner, the star decals glued to her face, excessively long eyelashes, and wild hair style. Conversely, she may just be a free spirit that dresses and acts as she pleases, and simply does not give a F**K. This is not a professionally run operation. When I arrived to complain to Nelly at the front desk, there was a woman that appeared to be in her late 70's or early 80's in the lobby shouting at the top of her lungs with the two young adult males that were in the lobby when I originally checked in. When I originally checked in, the two males were having a loud conversation and using profanity. There were other customers in the lobby with me experiencing this. Nelly knew the males by name and YELLED over the desk for them to stop using profanity. When I returned to the lobby, after I had to wait 10 minutes for Nelly to return, yes, the desk was unmanned and the lobby was locked, Nelly had to yell over the desk to the elderly woman whom she knew by name, who was yelling as though someone had enacted a terrible and egregious offense against her, to shut up so that my complaint could be heard. The individuals that were walking around the property and smoking outside of their rooms appeared to be individuals who are in recovery from drug and alcohol misuse or are still using. No judgement, simply the observation of a dad who has worked in the field of social services for almost 25 years, with two kids that simply wanted to attend the NY State Fair for the first time and made the mistake for driving almost 6 hours from NYC to stay in this DUMP to save a few bucks! You get what you pay for! It was at this point that I feared for the well being of my children and asked for a refund so that we may find a hotel at what was now close to 11 pm. Nelly stated it was not possible and refused adamantly to give me a receipt for my stay, which was approximately 10 minutes long. I was on the property for an additional 50 minutes trying to speak to someone in authority. Nelly phoned the front desk supervisor Rochele using her personal cell phone, proceeded to lie stating I asked for her personal number (again, I recorded the entire interaction and that NEVER happened!), and when I complained about Nelly's poor customer services, Nelly walked away with the phone not letting Rochele and me finish our conversation. I wish I could upload the audio for you all to listen too. This is not a place to stay if you are traveling with children, or care about your health or safety.

Really really disappointed. If I could give less than 1 I would. After driving 4.5 hours from NYC, I arrived to be told that my reservation through Booking.com would not be honored. Apparently the Red Roof Inn East Syracuse overbooked. I requested a Accessable room with a king bed. Accessible means on the 1st floor. All that was avaliable was a double on the 2nd floor and we would have to wait until it was serviced. The receptionist was apologetic, but it was simply pro forma, I had to scramble for another hotel, and that's a whole another story.

Unpleasant experience For one the desk help wasn't very pleasant or welcoming... there was blood splatter on the bathroom wall/door...and they had roaches, very uneasy stay. A woman was yelling out side and in the office at the front desk. Would not recommend and would not go back to stay again.

Dirty and Disgusting! Beds had been made, but not changed, and there was human hair in the beds. Tub was filthy and clogged. Carpet was so dirty that walking on it barefoot turned our feet black! There was a dead, dried rose laying on the floor next to the bed. Dirtiest room we've ever stayed in!
