Brads stay at Comfort Suites I like the location and the staff were nice. Breakfast was good and the eating area was clean. The cancelation policy is terrible. This makes it difficult to book this hotel again. You have to pay for one night if you don't cancel 2 days before your arrival. If you're driving this can be an issue. Same day cancelation should be the norm. The water pressure was bad. Barely enough to take a shower. Also the water takes 5 minutes to warm up. I feel I wasted a lot of water waiting. I will be visiting the Tallahassee area again. I don't know that I would stay again. Thanks, Brad

Find a different hotel Absolutely disgusting hotel. Our bathroom was filthy and the pullout mattress was black. If we hadn’t been driving all day and ready to sleep I would have found a different hotel. I wouldn’t even use the shower I was so grossed out by it. The “free” breakfast was the smallest I’ve ever seen at a hotel as well. Three cereal options, muffins and bagels. I cannot believe I paid $150 for this place. It should be no more than $80.

Loud music across street. Horrible loud booming music with people dancing in parking lot across the street 3 of the 5 nights we stayed. Our room faced parking lot. Hotel said the police were called but noise is allowed in the area until 2am. Hotel did give us a partial refund. Hotel was clean. Bed ok. Some staff very nice. Other staff indifferent to hostile. Breakfast was standard fare. Same menu every day—round egg patty, round sausage patty, English muffins, bacon, Belgian waffles iron, prepackaged danish, cold and hot cereal, biscuits and gravy. There is an exercise room with elliptical, treadmill and bike. No sanitizing wipes for equipment. Exercise room not locked.

A complete rip off at peak demand times Nearly $700 per night for a ground floor room that stunk of dog? Absolutely disgraceful. I know hotels are able to charge higher rates when there is increased demand, like for parents weekend at FSU, but for a room that stunk so badly of dog that your allergies are set off for days after two sleepless nights? There is NO excuse for this. The front desk manager could not have been more disengaged. When I brought this up at checkout he barely stopped chewing his snack to apologize. We could have started at the BEST hotel in town for less than $200 per night more. This hotels is a complete rip off at peek demand periods. Avoid it at all costs.

Better Options Else Where My stay at the Comfort Inn Suites located on 1026 Apalachee Pkwy, Tallahassee, FL was not the best hotel experience. This experience was layered with several issues from no daily room cleaning service, terrible customer service, loud employees in hallway early in the morning and the terrible breakfast. I don’t know where to start. 1) I am not sure what the protocol is for cleaning, but our rooms were not cleaned on a daily basis where there were 4 students per room. 2) This by far was the worst issue. On Thursday, 3/2/2023, one of the rooms that a group of my students were in, the toilet was clogged. The student called downstairs and he was advised to come down and get a plunger to plunge the toilet. When that did not work the student called me and I called downstairs to see what they were going to do about the situation. The clerk named Ray on duty at 11 PM told me that a plunger had been given to the students. I advised him that didn’t work and that is why I was calling. He then continue telling me that there was no one on duty to address the problem. I didn’t understand that because I‘ve been in other hotels where if the toilet clogged they have sent people up to address these issues. However, Ray then tells me that he had been plunging toilets since he was 14 and he could not understand why my boys could not do the same. I told him not to use himself as measuring stick for my students. He then tells me to tell my male chaperone to go plunge the toilet. I told him that was not my chaperones job. He then tells me that his job is to watch the kids. I told him that I am not shopping around your hotel to get someone to plunge this toilet. In addition, I told him that my students paid for this room and they deserved to have a working toilet. He got pissed and hung up on me. I then went downstairs and heard him talking about me to someone on the phone very loud. I then proceeded to ask him what are you going to do about my students toilet not working? He said that they did not have a maintenance person on cite. I didn’t understand how that was my problem. Ray then tells me again that he had been plunging toilets since he was 14 and that he lived on the south side of Tallahassee and that they are boys and someone should have taught them how to do that. I told him that their parents call a company to unclog their toilets. I went on to advise him that my students live in affluent areas since he wanted me know where he was raised. He got offended and said, “so they are privileged kids”. My response was it is not my students faults or my colleagues faults that we don’t have to plunge toilets. He then tells me that he only has a room with 1 king bed and 1 sofa for 4 kids. I told him that was unacceptable and I could not put my students on the floor because this not what their parents paid for nor was it what they were used to. He then tells me that the system is going to charge me and I told Ray, that the system is going to charge me because you don’t have a maintenance person on cite to unclog this toilet. He then gives me 3 possible reasons as to why the toilet could be clogged “1) piping and, I (Ray) know that is not it because that is the only room with an issue 2) waste or 3) they used too much paper”! After a continued back and forth I then told him to give me the keys and I will deal with management in the morning because it was 11:50 PM. After about 5-10 more minutes he then gave me 2 different keys for those student. Mind you earlier that evening one of the other chaperones tried to handle the situation and the clerk prior to Ray’s shift was rude and unprofessional as well. 3) On Saturday, 3/4 I am trying to sleep because the day before I had a very full day and I was looking forward to being able to sleep until 9am and I hear some of the workers outside slamming doors talking loud about what is for lunch at 8AM outside my door. 4) The breakfast was horrible. Finally, 5) I would be remised if I did not applaud Randy the manager for displaying professionalism and apologizing for my Thursday 3/2/2023 experience. I have never had this type of experience before at a hotel. Therefore, I would not come back to this hotel again.
