Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Tampa/Brandon, FL

Much to be desired!! The front desk was very indifferent throughout my stay. The check-in agent didn't welcome me as a Platinum member. I asked for a quieter room, but she put me right in the intersection of two roads. The road noise was pretty bad overnight, so I tried to switch room the next morning, the guy told me that the hotel was completely sold out even though the parking lot was mostly empty and I only saw two people in the breakfast area. Ironically, I received a text later that morning asking how my stay was, and I immediately replied saying that I didn't sleep well due to road noise and asking for a different room. A few minutes later, they texted me back saying the front desk will address your issue shortly. Unfortunately no one reached out to me, so I texted back to follow-up in the evening, but no replies from that text number since. Speaking of the breakfast, there was not much choice, everything was so salty, the only thing I could eat was yogurt, bananas, and waffle. The room was spacious but full of mold smell. The worst thing is that they charged $100 deposit(not a hold) on my card even though I was redeeming points for my stay. The deposit was not refunded until I called the hotel back 17 days later. The only bright sport was the variety of the TV channels. They don't however have a print-out TV channel guide, you have to scan the QR code to see the channel line-up, which is great initiative of going green. The channel listing however doesn't match up with actual TV channel # on the screen.

Pleasantly Surprised by Country Inn in Brandon I was hesitant to stay at this Country Inn in Brandon because of some truly awful reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find my room had no problems. Nothing fancy, but everything was clean and worked. The staff was friendly and the common areas were in good condition, including the hallways, breakfast room, lobby, workout room, and pool. The bad reviews I read were issues that could easily be taken care of by the hotel, like buying new mattresses and ensuring bathrooms are in good repair. I'm not sure why they let some rooms get into terrible condition? It's a shame because the rest of the hotel is nice.

Surpassed expectations Despite some troubling reviews, I decided to stay here 2 nights since it was within walking distance of the Bucs stadium & Steinbrenner field. My stay was excellent! I was able to check in 2 hours early & my room had obviously had a recent renovation & everything looked new. Front desk personal were eager to assist and had a great attitude. Breakfast of eggs, hash browns , biscuits and gravy and waffles was fine. I have no complaints and will stay here again .

Not worth the price!! The hotel is expensive but not worth the price. It may be a two star hotel at best. It is very dated and needs remodeling! Breakfast was horrible and insulting! They charge a $100 deposit for some reason? Not in a good area! Room was barely adequate. It compares to a motel 6 or worse! Look around!

Average at Best ...... Stayed here one night while attending an event at the fairgrounds close by. Check in was ok but did not like they actually copied my drivers license AND credit card – front and back. HUGE potential for fraud – never had this happen before so be aware and we will be watching for fraud. They also hold $100 deposit for any damages up front. Maybe the area but not happy with that either. Room was clean and quiet. No paper info including TV guide except to scan which we do not use. Breakfast overall was disappointing. Coffee was awful, attendant sat in the corner and focused on her phone most of the time. Had to ask for more plates and utensils to be brought out. No fresh fruit, no hot eggs (saw 2 hard boiled eggs). There was warm bacon and cold French toast, waffle maker, cereal, yogurt, watery orange juice, etc. Not one of their better breakfasts. However, based on our hotel survey feedback, the manager quickly responded and said they would address so hoping they have. Average stay at best, location good near fairgrounds & Ybor city
