Great Breakfast Comfortable but dated. Good location. Pleasant outdoor spaces. Air conditioning was weak. Breakfast was exceptional. Four stars because I thought it was overpriced. Don’t miss tour of Pueblo Taos. The Harwood Museum is also worth a visit.

Lovely hotel with wonderful service. We will stay there again We stumbled upon this hotel by luck. We were looking for any room in Taos for the night of a big concert. Unfortunately the concert was rained out but we discovered and loved Palacio de Marquesa. It was built as a private home. in the late 1800’s. It is incredibly beautiful. The rooms are lovely and the service is supreme. We were treated so well by tje host who even offered to drive us to the concert. The breakfast! I would go back just for that. It was a disappointment to miss the concert but our stay at Palacio de Marquisa made up for it!

Outstanding chef, lovely inn, worth a detour! We highly recommend this Taos gem. It is a short walk from the Taos Plaza and conveniently located near the Taos Pueblo, Millicent Rogers Museum of Art (a must-visit), and the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. We had three really lovely nights at the Palacio Marquesa in May 2024 and look forward to returning The 8 rooms at his better-than-anticipated B & B are named and decorated for the eight women who left their artistic mark on the area. We originally reserved the ICON room, named for Georgia O’Keefe. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to the ROMANTIC room, named after the painter Doroty Brett. It was a large, well-appointed room with one of the most comfortable hotel beds we’ve had, complete with high-quality linens. The generous-sized bathroom has a huge walk-in marble shower and all the amenities one could require. We arrived well before check-in time, and Pamela graciously welcomed us and stowed our luggage so we could explore the area. The real standout of our stay was Chef Nicholas, who could truly be at the helm of a Michelin-starred kitchen anywhere in the world! As other reviewers have commented, his gourmet breakfast buffet was outstanding. Each morning, the dining room was filled with the scent of homemade croissants (two varieties, almond, and chocolate!) right out of the oven, homemade granola (which became my favorite afternoon snack), cereals, fresh berries, yogurts, just squeezed juices, a unique frittata each day, and a local Indigenous dish. During our stay, we tried the hand-ground blue corn “atole.” Chef Nicholas prepared this simple yet satisfying porridge with a touch of local honey and a smidge of cinnamon, and at his direction, I topped it with a spoon of cream- amazing! He also suggested we visit Chokola, the café and chocolate shop off the plaza's side street. We would not have stumbled upon this ourselves if he hadn’t, and we are so glad he did. The shop specializes in ethically sourced “bean-to-bar” award-winning chocolates. He also provided us with suggestions for local restaurants. However, we hope he expands the dining at Palacio Marques beyond his gourmet breakfasts. We sincerely believe he could make it a European-style destination restaurant & inn.

Gorgeous rooms and property with gourmet breakfast We stayed in the Matriarch Suite, which is an absolutely beautiful room on this gorgeous property. We were greeted immediately upon arrival and check-in went very smoothly. Pam was incredibly accommodating and made sure we knew how welcome we were. Nicholas provided abundant information about activities and restaurants in the area. The suite was spotless when we arrived and had all the amenities one could need for a single night or multiple night stay. A gourmet breakfast was provided and was top notch...some of the best we've had at an inn. We were able to use the pool at their sister resort, which was a great way to relax after traveling. If you are looking for a luxurious and charming bed and breakfast in Taos, you will not be disappointed with Palacio de Marquesa.

Great Place, Dog Friendly I thought this place was great. It's small and unconventional, you'll still use a metal key to enter your room, but those kind of touches is what gives this place character. We brought our dog, and they put us in a dog friendly room that was at the end of the building. Since this place is small and there isn't a lot of foot traffic, your dog won't get as anxious as a conventional hotel where they can constantly here other people. Or maybe it's just my Golden that gets overly concerned with what's going on outside. He's got serious FOMO. Best part of this place is the breakfast. Wow! It's a treat, and one of the best hotel breakfast I've ever had, and most definitely the best one I've had in the States. The location is great, and walkable to the Plaza where you'll find great restaurants, and shops. I would definitely book this place again when I return to Taos. Oh...room, and bed were super comfortable and quiet. Had all the room amenities you need.
