Beautiful location very disappointing accommodation! We were staying for one night after a wedding. The setting is spectacular with a beautiful chapel fantastic for your wedding. The day went well all staff were friendly and helpful, the dinner was good. However now to the cons we were not able to check into our room till after 3pm so it was early evening when I checked in and as they had taken our bags up for us I continued to enjoy the day. On entering the room late at night the first impression was wonderful large four poster bed, roll top free standing bath in a large bathroom. However on closer inspection all the furniture was rather tired with stuffing showing on the armchair, white water marks on the table and torn curtain behind the four poster bed. Cleanliness was another issue appears that dusting above eye level did not happen the celling light was dusty as was the top of the four poster bed, it was so bad it was grey instead of brown. Also the towels were stained one was not even white it should never have been put out for guests. There was only decaffeinate coffee pods and one packet of biscuits for two of us! We were given a time slot for breakfast and it was not really worth getting up for! All in all not value for money. If you are going for a function consider getting a taxi home.

Super Afternoon Tea! We have just had one of the best Afternoon Teas at Peckforton Castle. Great choice of sandwiches and they were willing to change anything to another option. Endless tea and coffee and lovely pastries and cakes. Scones were beautiful too. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive. Would recommend.

Never again The grounds and building were lovely
Receptionist lady was warm and friendly and that’s where it ends
The room was miles away, small and dark. A loud buzzing noise all night kept us awake
The bathroom was dirty and tired.
We did book into the Brasserie but changed our mind once we saw the menu and visited The Shady Pub down the road, much better
Breakfast was awful. Breakfast already plated up so everything was rubbery but young lads who waited on were great
We did enjoy our woodland walk though but wouldn’t stay again. It is basically a venue for weddings and not enough attention paid to overnight guest stays

Disappointing and below par. Amazing location, Room 106 fell well below our expectations we were hoping for after the hype of their website. Carpet showed thick dust where the vacuum cleaner had missed. The bath panel was rotten along it's length where it joined the tiled floor and mouldy along the top where it joined the rim of the bath. The period furniture was in poor condition and four screws were sticking out of the wall above the bedhead. The inside of the bath had hard material stuck to the base. Dinner was expensive and underwhelming and breakfast poor. The addition of a service charge on already inflated charges unless challenged was the final straw. An email of complaint has been totally ignored by the management, this appears to be the norm according to other reviews.

A fabulous, high quality experience We had afternoon tea ten dinner and an overnight stay. This was perfect in every way. Just ignore the comments from the negative nellies on here: runny jam and tasteless scones __. We also had steak for dinner that was perfectly cooked and a beautiful cut. Our bedroom was bright and spacious. Overall, this is a great venue with high quality standards in all areas, you really should give it a try.
