Lovely Afternoon Tea We had a fabulous afternoon tea at this truly beautiful castle and we were especially well looked after by Claire. The venue is absolutely stunning and nobody minded our exploring it a little. Here's to our friend turning 60 with style. Highly recommended for a special occasion (or just an ordinary one.)

Very disappointing We attended a wedding here in June. The setting was beautiful and the food was lovely, including our breakfast. I would also like to point out that all of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our hotel room was a different story. The bathroom was rather disgusting. There was mould all over the ceiling and wall, which can pose health risks and our toilet was blocked, meaning we had to use the main hotel toilets. There was also a cracked window that had been taped up and the room cleanliness wasn’t brilliant either. We expected better than this for the price we paid and better from the management who don’t respond to your complaints.

Have had far better afternoon teas elsewhere. We went for afternoon tea using a buy a gift voucher and as expected (having visited before) the ambience and environment was lovely but unfortunately there were a few things that let it down this time. There was only one member of staff serving and was rushed off her feet meaning long wait times. The sandwiches did not reflect what was stated on the menu and they were all made with white bread bar one cheese and spring onion sandwich. The scones didn't seem fresh, the clotted cream was too hard, there was no watercress on the egg and watercress sandwich, and to top it all the waitress brought the bill charging us again for the whole afternoon tea not just the glass of champagne we had.

Poor accommodation The location and the surroundings are beautiful unfortunately once inside the room it was very dirty, musty smelling and facilities poor. The restaurant was very nice, staff polite and food was good
