Nice, but service could be improved My husband and I stayed one night on the way to our vacation destination and one night on our way home. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The evening restaurant staff were great. The morning restaurant staff left a lot to be desired. The first morning we were there the service was incredibly slow, and our waitress often forgot to bring things we asked for, such as water and coffee. The second morning, I sat at a table for 20 minutes before I had to go to the front desk to ask about table service. Both occasions made for a frustrating start to the day.

Nice place good beds better staff. We were there for a West Point Class Reunion over Labor day Weekend. So we made the facility very crowded. They had a musician on their patio Thur Fri and Sat who was excellent which also made it less crowded inside. The Staff was very friendly and if you need a banquet they served @800 in one sitting and food was better than expected. The issue I had was the bar was cash only and we couldn’t charge it on our rooms. Don’t know why. Beds were comfortable rooms large enough. The internet on the other hand… but we are all mostly retired so immediacy isn’t an issue. Dealing with fetid military officers (all the way to 4 stars) can’t be easy. Overall good job.

Terrible service at Westchester Marriott. Terrible service. Dirty room. Non working toilet that my husband had to fix. I cleaned shower stall, there was a lot of long black hair in it from previous travelers. The only clean thing were sheets. Manager at front desk was rude and could care less about complaints. Unless you need it for business - never stay there.

Disappointing Experience for a Marriott Overall impression: nice hotel, but a few serious drawbacks that were disappointing - especially for a Marriott. I stayed at the Westchester Marriott for the 50th anniversary of my college graduation. The Wednesday (8/28) Welcome Reception cost $50 – for which light veggies and crackers were served (no beverages). This was way overpriced for what was offered. Next time I would not pay the price for the reception, and simply stand out in the hallway for conversation. For the $100 (for my wife & me), we could have had substantially more served to us in the hotel bar area (incl. drinks), or a modest meal at a nearby restaurant. The manner in which drinks were served at the Wednesday reception (and the Thursday evening dinner) was ridiculous. Yes, we were told in advance that it would be a “cash bar” – but whenever I’ve heard this term in the past, it meant that drinks were not included in the price of the event. However, in this case, it meant that they only took cash – no credit cards or room charges – and even then you had to stand in line to buy a drink ticket, and then stand in line to get a drink. WHY?!?! I suspect that this resulted in fewer purchases (it certainly did in my case) and fewer tips for the bar staff. Thursday evening (dinner) I chose to walk out to the lobby bar, charge my drinks to my room, and carry them back to the banquet room. Thursday dinner. The banquet room was over-packed – too many tables, too many people. It was difficult to move around, and drinks were jostled and spilled on to people’s dress clothing. Had there been a fire or other reason to need to exit the room quickly, there would have been numerous casualties. Management staff must have known in advance that a group of this size would have this problem, and should have other admitted that the hotel could not accommodate the event, or should have moved 10-20 tables out to the adjoining hallways. Throughout the stay, table service in the lobby bar area for a la carte breakfast service (as opposed to the buffet) was s-l-o-w… INTERNET: the internet service was EXCEPTIONALLY SLOW – about the slowest I have experienced at any hotel in the past 5-10 years. I use the “SPEEDTEST” app to measure internet speed, and the download speeds were consistently less than 1-2 mb/second (mps). I tried to upgrade to the better internet service and was unsuccessful. Check-out: Although my room reservation had my Marriott Bonvoy # on the reservation, I did not receive credit or points for the stay until I contacted Marriott two weeks later. I never received a Guest Survey following my stay. Bottom Line: Would I stay here again? I might as an individual, but for a group event of this size I would probably move across to the Sheraton or another nearby hotel.
