Friendly staff who spend time with you and do not brush you off Super awesome staff. The hotel was packed but the staff was well prepared and couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. This was my first stay at this hotel. First time to Portland, also. If I ever go back to Portland I will chose this hotel because of the staff, specifically Sherif Samy, the front desk supervisor. What a joy to have met this gentleman. I had a mix-up with my dates and booked a hotel for the wrong date for my trip to Portland. Luckily, there was a room at this hotel available and Sherif couldn't have been more helpful with my special requests. I had expiring credits with two of my credit cards that I wanted to use but needed my final bill split between two cards. You never know how well someone will understand your request when you are asking for a slightly different procedure than normal. In my case, I had to spend a certain amount and then have the bill split between two different cards to fully use my credits. Both Sherif and the equally great gentleman who checked me in the night before understood what I was doing perfectly. They both explained my final bill and how they would be splitting my room charge. There really was no need for me to ask Sherif Samy to confirm before I checked out that my invoice would be split between two cards but I was spending more than I normally would for a room and Sherif was sympathetic and double checked for me. He showed such great care and appreciation for me, that I was truly moved. Not only did Sherif give me comfort from knowing my final billing would be handled correctly, he gave me the most unexpected gift of all. It's silly, but I was wearing a very inexpensive t-shirt I got from Target almost 2 years ago. I hardly ever wear the shirt but anytime I do, I always get compliments on the design. Then, people always ask where I got it and are floored to learn I got it at Target. Well, Sherif did the same. He complimented my shirt but went on to explain why he liked it so much. Turns out, I was wearing a shirt with Egyptian symbols depicting the pyramids and sun. I had no idea and this most certainly explains the uniqueness of the shirt and why so many people have complimented me on it. Then, Sherif showed me his personal pictures of the pyramids and Egypt. He was such a joy, and meeting him was the best treat of my whole stay at this hotel. The breakfast was wonderful. Despite the hotel being sold out, I had no problem finding a seat for breakfast or getting food. A waffle machine would have been nice but honestly, the choices were plentiful. I got a very generously portioned pasta salad the night before from the bar that was enough for two meals. The young woman working the bar who took my order on June 29, 2024 was just as great to meet as Sherif. Despite the full hotel, I was the only person at the bar/restaurant. She offered me water while I waited and made sure I always had a refill without ever asking. I will be back at this Hotel because of the staff if I ever get to Portland, again. Thank you.

CHOOSE ELSE WHERE! I don’t know who’s leaving great reviews for this place- but I’m so upset I listened! I knew going into it that it’s not a four seasons, but I wasn’t prepared to be catfished! The lobby is newly renovated and that is the only clean and pretty thing in this old hotel. You will be welcomed with a strong chlorine stench coming from their ridiculously small and disgusting pool area. The room is hot, unkept, and just nasty. The pool is tiny for the size of the hotel. Same with their laundry area. 2 washers and 2 dryers for such a big hotel!!! The machines only take quarters and there is no change machine in the room, forcing you to go down to the front desk. The people there hate giving change because every time I asked, they’d open their drawer and huff and puff. Specifically Gia from Pasadena. She said “I don’t have any” and looked away!! She does not belong in customer service. When I asked so how will I do laundry? She rolled her eyes and said “let me check the back office I guess” yeah no $h!t go do your job or have management provide a change machine in the laundry room! The complimentary breakfast is just below mediocre. Boxed powdered eggs. Decent potatoes, and an omelette station. No waffle machine for the kiddies so be prepared for your little ones to grumble. The hotel suite is dirty, musty, and poorly cleaned. There was an envelope to leave tips for the maid and each day the money was gone but no requests were fulfilled. (ie: asked for extra towels, trash bags, etc) the sofa bed is AWFUL. It’s old and you will feel every single coil spring. My kids complained every morning poor things. The curtains are covered in dust, the bedroom had dust and crumbs all over the floor near the headboard, clearly never gets vacuumed. The sink outside the bathroom had no hot water to wash dishes, And the worst part - MOLD in our shower. See attached photos. The maids are lazy and don’t scrub/clean well. I was constantly wiping things down with Clorox wipes. You can tell in the photo of the shower how the walls SHOULD be (see upper 1/4 of the walls) compared to how dirty they are filled with black mold in the cracking design. NEVER STAYING HERE AGAIN. And telling everyone to avoid!!!!

Stayed many times over the years, This will be the LAST TIME. I made reservations a few weeks in advance. When I walked in, the first question the front desk asked "did I drive"? That will be $10 a night for self parking. No mention of that when I made reservations. That started us off on a bad vibe. Not enough Handicap parking and later after dinner just plain not enough parking at all. The best thing was the made to order omelottes. WILL NOT BE BACK.

Not a normal Embassy Suites The E S was a very cold looking hotel. There were no gardens, fountains no sitting areas. the main hall was a large room with nothing but tables and chairs. The breakfast was good. But, the Evening Reception was poor-2 types of beer & 1 wine were the only offers. Snacks were cheese, crackers and bags of chips. I requested room service 3 times, never got it, I moved out on 4 day, after 2 murders on 9th floor. They would not make a new reservation at Embassy Suites at Portland Airport, which was different as night and day.

Nice hotel LOVED THIS HOTEL. Everyone was so nice! We didn't get the room we wanted but they were so kind it didn't even matter. We were by a club so it definitely wasn't quite but they had a fan and it helped a bit. The food at Mother's is a mush try.
