Red Roof Inn Toledo - University

Cleaned my own room!! Found weave hair & cheesestick wrapper on floor. Took the trash to the manager who claimed to report it to the General Manager. If it wasn't already after 8pm I would have moved further on up the road! Also had 2 cleaning rags left on the balcony railing outside my room.

Dirty and rundown We checked in to the office and first impression was it was run down but the reviews were decent so we went ahead with the checkin. The room like the outside was in poor repair… paint chipping, worn and stained wood trim, black scuff marks on the tile floor. The room at first glance seemed clean and the beds were really nice. But then as we looked around we realized the room was really dirty. Hair strands in the hair drier, random long hairs on the walls, crumbs in the corners of the room, and the microwave had bits of food stuck to the door. I didn’t dare look inside. Pros- beds were great, and the price was great… Cons- everything else

High School Reunion Debacle Red Roof Inn-University is in a good location for someone wishing to visit the University of Toledo, the Toledo Museum of Art, and the western suburbs. Price is low and on Internet looks fine. In reality, the facility is run-down and our room was not clean. It was scary looking under bed!! Found plastic cup and dork and expected even worse. We paid $15.00 for a room upgrade for double beds. Room stiil was small. There are better options close by.

Not clean The linoleum floor in our room was super sticky. It was gross, and I had to wash my feet right before leaving to get the film off of them. The room (and the entire outside) smelled like cigarettes, and when I called to complain, the guy at the desk told me to just deal with it. The beds felt like the springs were busted and the mattresses hadn't been changed in 20 years. Haven't had a hotel stay this unpleasant in a long time, and I often get cheap hotels.

Avoid this filthy and disgusting place with apathetic staff There was pubic hair in the sheets of my bed and on my bathroom towels. I had a reservation made several weeks earlier and was entitled to come at around 10 pm when I arrived. I didn't need to get a harassing call to see if I was still coming so they could give my "last room" to someone else. The microwave and the refrigerator did not work. The refrigerator had one setting- freezing. My sodas were frozen solid in the morning. The microwave would not work at all. I couldn't cook the food I had saved for breakfast. The front desk had no idea of how to get the microwave to work and refused to do anything about it. I wrote a nasty review on their survey. I got an obviously prefabbed response from Red Roof Inn Corporate and from the Front Desk. They promised to "make some changes". Yeah- right- all you care about is that you got my money. That's the last money you will get from me. Do not even think of staying in this filthy, disgusting place. If I could give this place a zero on this site, I would. I gave them a zero on the Red Roof Inn Questionnaire. There are plenty of other, more reputable hotels in this area. If my travels for business take me there again, I will stay at one of them - not Red Roof Inn. I hope that my review prevents someone else from having the nasty experience that I had. Also - it was nonsmoking in theory- but people could smoke like fiends outside of the rooms. You may as well have been in a smoking room as the smoke easily permeated the doors and walls of the room.
