Will not come again We will not be back. Rooms dated, though they have great view. Friendly staff. I never understand why hotels insist on carpets. In the lobby, shag carpeting, very difficult to struggle with our luggage. I understand being understaffed, covid and all… but we literally struggled with the perfectly good wheels on our luggage in the lobby. Carpet also in rooms, not as thick, but makes you wonder what hides there. Lobby entrance under construction mid July. $15 dollar breakfast was in a bag!!!!! Yogurt with bad fruits, apple, juice and granola bar. not fitting for this type of hotel. Will not return.

Hotel is nice but STAY AWAY from parking Garage We stayed in a terrace room and it was lovely, however the outside terrace needed some care. The screen was badly broken and concrete outside is chipping. You can not get a better location that this. BUT I do recommend you find off site parking as the garage does not have valet pkg or elevators and the ramps are very very narrow with concrete curbs chipping off and very sharp. We blew a tire coming down one day.

Not as good as expected My recent stay was not as I expected. We checked in at our check-in time of 3, but had to wait for our room to be cleaned. That was alright, and they said they would put a rush on it. We waited and checked in the status of our room about every half hour to hour. They said they would call once it was ready. We ended up waiting two hours. The room was not up to standard. We had a three night stay, and had only the toilet paper roll on the holder. We had to request anytime we would need it. The room was not all that clean. There were some big things that were missed. We were also told there was no regular housekeeping and we would need to request housekeeping. Not impressed. The staff was friendly. It was difficult to hear them during check in as the music was so loud. The music was nice during our two hour wait. I will not be returning. In my opinion, it was not worth the money.

Dirty & Dated The room was really not up to any kind of standard for cleanliness. We understand that it is trying times during Covid but they have completely let this place go. The room had a couple food stains through out it and the windows (outside) were so dirty you would think they were frosted. The room that the ice machine was in is straight out of a horror movie. Dirty sink, rusted pipes, old linens and a broken microwave. The staff were all very helpful and tentative and the lobby is gorgeous. It's location is also very handy. Had we paid the Pre-covid prices we would have been asking for a refund.

Comfortable staycation When the hospital where I work mentioned that the Westin had a special staycation promo for health care workers, I couldn't resist booking a room here for a Saturday night. It was a great rate including parking and wifi is free if you are a Mariott Bonvoy member, so it made for a very affordable COVID getaway. The good: - Friendly staff - Convenient location for walking around the Harbourfront or taking a ferry to the islands. The Distillery District and St. Lawrence market are also close (20-30 mins walk). - Room was comfortable, especially the King bed. There's a reason Westin is famous for their "heavenly beds". The mattress, pillows, and linens made for the best sleep ever! - Many rooms have a view of the lake, which is nice. Our room faced east but you could still see a bit of the water. - Well appointed rooms with bar fridge, smart TV, and robes (upon request). There is free coffee and tea in the lobby, as well as a snack bar. You can also order pizza and other hot food items in the evening, although we did not do this as there are many options within walking distance for takeout (and patios have just been allowed to re-open in Toronto as of June 11!). - Inviting lobby area. - Everything was super clean. There are hand wipes in the room and there is sanitizer in the lobby and elevators. - We were surprised to find breakfast bags at our door in the morning (juice, yogurt and granola, muffin, apple). Not sure if it was included in our room rate or if they threw it in for free due to the issues we faced (see below), although we didn't bother to complain... The not-so-good: - pool and terrace are still closed (not their fault! COVID restrictions... just a bummer as it looks really nice!). - Room furniture is somewhat dated and showing a bit of wear and tear. - When we checked in to the room, there was an exposed duct in the ceiling and the smoke detector had been covered with plastic (from the previous guest). We told the front desk staff to have someone cover the duct while we were out walking by the lake, as we didn't want them doing it later while we were in the room. We went out for a few hours but when we came back at night, no one had fixed it. We figured they probably don't have staff at night to do that type of work, so we did not call the front desk again. We just left it, but it did end up making some noise. I slept through it, but my partner found the noise distracting and woke up a few times. Overall, a nice hotel experience and I would recommend this hotel particularly if you are interested in activities in the Harbourfront area. It is also really close to Union station, so great for catching the UP express to the airport or VIA rail trains. Parking is $10/day if not included in your room rate, which isn't bad at all.
