The perfect family stay during a pandemic We have cancelled several trips (like everyone else) this year because of Covid 19. Like many people in our area, Lake Tahoe is the perfect place to visit during a pandemic--a drive from home and the ability to get outdoors and be physically distant from others. We reserved a 3 bedroom which was actually 3.5 baths. We were a family of 8 (my family and my sister's family). From beginning to end, the interactions with staff were very helpful and professional. The property manager was extremely helpful during the reservations process as I had lots of questions. I found that booking direct instead of with VRBO or the like would ensure a better cancellation policy (much better--privately owned were 30-60 days cancellation) and a more thorough, detailed cleaning procedure. We did not have daily cleaning (fine by us as this limited the people in our room and didn't put their employees at risk) but we could get linens as needed. There still was someone at the front desk to answer our questions. My husband and daughter found the Constellation Residences perfectly situated for mountain biking. We prepared breakfast and lunch in the residence and got dinner to go a few times and at out (outside) a few times. Masks are required anytime you were in the common areas and hand sanitizer was abundantly available. We will definitely stay here again! We especially liked that we could travel with our small dog. Constellation Residences is comfortable and upscale, and it really "recharged" us to be in the beautiful area of Lake Tahoe and Northstar!

Incompetent Manager Our family spent a week at the hotel during Thanksgiving break. We had booked through the epic pass website to get their 20% discount. While there we asked to stay one more night. They charged us the full price but before we left they told us at the front desk they would revert the charges and pay us back the difference. Weeks passed and nothing. We called multiple times and initially told us to wait a month to see the credit on our credit card statement. December arrives and nothing. Finally talked to the manager there multiple times over phone and email and he said he would reverse it again. We’re now end of January and still nothing. This manager doesn’t return my calls anymore or responds to my emails. It’s really a shame that the reputation of that magnificent property is dirtied by such an incompetent manager. Beware, his name is Kurt Retzer.

Ritz-Carlton Residences OMG! The 3/3.3 accommodations include TWO complete master bedroom suites with jetted tubs. Third bedroom has a private bath as well. 1/2 bath for common areas. Large fully equipped kitchen and bar. A stemwear collection that will rival any bar... except no champagne flutes. The large living room has an entertainment center, gas fireplace and huge modular seating area. Flat screen TV's in each bedroom require a CD player or laptop to watch your own movies. Twice daily maid service, they even did the dishes we planned to do later! The staff is great and super friendly. Located atop the Homewood gondola you can ride to the village or access the mountain.

Good stay during Christmas, quite costly and points for improvement as well Stayed here for 4 nights during Christmas in a family room (3 bedrooms). The location is very very nice. Also the apartment itself is nice, although it could have been more cosy and family like instead of this more business like interior. A bid add on was the playroom but at the same time it could have been better equipped with toys and furniture. Since these are serviced apartments the lack of (the option of) a Christmas tree was miss, especially since there was a lot of space for it and it was Christmas. Service ok, but could have been better. Valet service was great though. Also the staff at the gondola to the village was exceptionally nice and guest friendly. The connection with Ritz was puzzling to us. Apartment was very large, very nice bedding and all the amenities were there (except for child/baby/toddler stuff). Great stay overall.

Stay here! Amazingly accommodating staff, access to amenities of the entire hotel, & space to stretch your legs and not feel on top of each other. All the 5-star hotel pluses without the space constraint minuses. Our family will be coming back.
