Great Staff and Clean Rooms! Upon check-in the front desk staff was very helpful and informative. He gave us great information on local places to eat and visit while we were in town. The room was fairly clean. We did not ask for any room service but the housekeeping staff did a great job asking if we needed extra toiletries or linens on a daily basis. Location was great as well right near downtown Tucson and the U of A. There were quite a bit of homeless people in the area but they were not a bother as they do their own thing. I have seen worst in california. Overall a great stay and will stay again when passing through town!

Great Motel This Motel Was Great, There Are Surely Better Options In Town But, This Is One Of My Budge Choices, The Staff Is Very Welcoming And Their Have Great Rooms. I Travel To Tucson Frequently And I Stay At This Place Often ( Maybe Every Other Month). I Love The Place And People That Work Here, They Offer Daily Housekeeping And That's Great. Finally Pet's Stay Free At Redroof

Formally the "Flamingo" now the "Flan" Well, what a rundown sh*t show this joint is...cigarette burns on the toilet seat, ripped bedspread, torn (probably by a dog - there are lots of pets allowed here) headboard, stains on the fitted sheet...that's just the inside. You'll run a gauntlet of partiers on the way in. Super-nice fellow in reception -he must be patient fielding all the complaints. A man was trying to change his room when we arrived - there was a dog howling in the adjacent room (He did move - we saw him later. "I just gotta spend more for hotels, apparently" he said. We could see his point. Two loud and Stalag 13-like sirens went off, one about 3am. Not sure what was the cause. The strange faux-brick floor covering on the second floor corridors actually accentuates the sounds of luggage passing by. It gets two stars because it is cheap, and enough things worked properly that our enjoyment wasn't destroyed. And the 60's architecture still brings a smiile, even if the old neon Flamingo sign now reads "The Flan".

For the love of god keep looking This motel was the definition of low end, if you’re looking for sketch areas then yeah this is a place for you. Room was disgusting and clearly the sheets had not been changed with pink and brown stains. Immediately went to ask for a refund and was told they probably won’t do it but they’ll ask the manager the next day anyhow. If I was falling asleep at the wheel, I’d rather sleep in my car than stay here. God why did I do this to myself. I need therapy now.

Nothing is perfect but the entire stay experience was a pleasant surprise & exceptional value! value This place is retro-vintage w/ shared Vegas Flamingo history in design/builder and yet updated w/ many modern features never expected at this price. The work desk area and night stands had more charging ports than most guests would ever need. I tend to always search close to campus when I travel for work because a room is just to sleep and shower, however, due to rising AZ Covid cases I stayed in the room more w/ excellent WiFi and all day sunshine on the front private patio. My original stay plans at another hotel were lost so I called Red Roof Flamingo and spoke w/ Dan. When I arrived the front lobby was clean & neat. Dan, Jay and the entire staff were welcoming and friendly. It's a national brand but clearly ran like a family owned motel. Like the title says nothing is perfect. Parking can be a challenge on a busy night, the area does have some transient people but that's almost everywhere in Tucson these days. The entire staff are constantly each day cleaning and keeping up the property. This is a hidden little gem in the desert w/ a free sunset every night! "During this pandemic old school direct room access like "The Flamingo" is the only way to go - no shared hallways with carpet!"
