Nice family hotel We stayed here for 2 nights with 3 kids. We got one of the refurbished family rooms which was great, very modern and had brilliant air conditioning. We were giving one of the older family rooms when we first arrived which was very dated and had a toilet in a separate small room away from the bath and shower so we asked if we could be moved which they did. Food in the bar was very tasty and bar staff were very friendly. The only small negative was that on the Sunday the bin in the men’s toilet beside the bar in the main lobby was over flowing with paper towels and had paper towels strewn around it on the floor which remained like that through out the whole day. I would have thought a hotel of this class would of had the toilets regularly cleaned. We had dinner in the restaurant both evenings and although the food was very nice the menu is very limited compared to the bar menu . The first night the service was brilliant but the second night the service wasn’t great. After sitting down we had to go up to staff and ask if we could order drinks then again to ask if we could order food. Breakfast was very nice both mornings with a great selection. The pool was great and the kids loved it. The play park is also a nice edition. Would definitely return but would probably just book dinner for one night in the restaurant next time and have dinner in the bar on the second night.

Customer service and cleanliness need to improve We’ve just returned from a 1 night stay to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. Bad first impression from the red haired receptionist who addressed us with ‘are you ok?’ instead of smiling and saying welcome to Mount Wolseley. Too business like with no warmth whatsoever. We had to ask for our toilet to be cleaned again as there was dirt around the taps, toilet seat and drain. All 3 scatter cushions had grubby marks on them too. None of these marks were permanent. Still dirty after being ‘cleaned’ for a second time. The waiting service was slow. We ordered a round of drink which never arrived and tables took forever to be cleared. At breakfast we weren’t told you had to order your pot of tea. I also had to ask for a clean cup and side plates. I saw at least 4 supervisors working the breakfast shift so the level of service should have been much better. Based on this experience we will not be returning or recommending this hotel.

Just a fab hotel We’ve had another wonderful summer week in Mount W. This was our sixth stay in five years. The rooms are perfect. Clean, spacious and ventilated. Great service and can’t be faulted in any way. Swimming pool and leisure complex are lovely. It is a shame though that the hotel now requires guests to book a slot for the pool. That really curtailed us unfortunately as we had to work our break around the hotel requirements. Breakfast is really nice with plenty of choice unless you want a gluten free menu. This is an area for the hotel to develop. Gluten free treats is not enough. There needs to be a comprehensive gluten free menu. Otherwise it’s really good. Restaurant is fabulous. Excellent. The bar is lovely but food is hugely expensive for what you get. €35 for a strip-lion stake but it was really not special. Curry, burger and all other menu options were really nice. Service in the bar the first three days was really good but on day 4 it was a different crew and they just stayed on one side of the room. Both us and the table next to us had to get up and approach staff to get someone to come over. It was so frustrating and lets a fantastic hotel down. We love staying here and will be back next year.
