Lovely stay at Mount Wolosley Stayed for one night during June having gotten it as a birthday present. Check in was quick and rob was ready on time. Staff are lovely and polite. The hotel is in very good condition having recently been renovated I think! Our room was a deluxe and was huge, comfortable bed, lovely bathroom. The food was also lovely. We dined in Fredericks and the food was perfect. We also had afternoon tea and this was a lovely experience. Many thanks to Keely for her lovely service. Our only gripe is the air con!!!! Was no use at all on a very warm day and night. Had to get a fan from reception as room was 27°. We had treatments in the spa and used the thermal suite all of which were great. I'd definitely stay again as overall it was a lovely experience

Great stay We booked a last-minute stay in one of the Resort Houses and were very impressed. The rooms were spacious and the beds extremely comfortable. We’d definitely return. The hotel staff were lovely, and the food in the lounge was excellent. We also enjoyed afternoon tea during our stay, it was delicious, though I would have preferred a better balance, as most of it was sweet with very few sandwiches. Aside from that, it was a perfect day spent with the girls.

Terrible lunch experience in a lovely hotel My husband and I and our two kids went for a one night break at the beginning of June. It was the Sunday of the bank holiday weekend. There are lovely amenities and we were able to use the pool before the 4pm check in time. There was lots to recommend this hotel and we had some lovely stays previously but this time we were very let down by our lunch experience in the Aaron lounge. We ordered our food and drinks for us and the kids (a glass of Coors, a 7up, water and coridal). A sprite and a pint of Coors arrived and the lady quickly swapped the pint for a glass. Our four year old and nine year old were left waiting and after a few minutes I got up to get it from the bar myself. I ordered a chicken wings starter, my 9 year old goujons and chips, my 4 year old a child's pizza and my husband ordered the cod. He asked what did it come with and did it come with chips or anything and was told wedges (the baby potatoes). We also ordered icecream sundaes for dessert for the kids. My chicken wings arrived along with the goujons. I was given two napkins and no cutlery (but I know it's a finger food so didn't think much of it). I looked for more napkins and went to get some and found a basket of wet wipes that I assume should have come with the wings. We got this at about 1.20 and my husband had to ask 3 times where the rest of the order was. One person said it could have come out as a starter but he would go check. No one came back to tell us where the rest of the order was. The third time he asked he pointed out he would have appreciated being given an update as it was frustrating having to ask so many times. My four year old couldn't understand why we had food and she didn't and repeatedly asked where her food was. Eventually it arrived at 1.45, well after my son and I had finished eating. We also received a side order of chips and an adult sized pizza instead of the child pizza my four year old had ordered. We were given no cutlery again and had to ask for it. The fish quality was very poor and the overall tasted reheated and not fresh. My husband was very hungry at this point so ate it but we were surprised at the quality given the price of 28euro (1 piece of fish that tasted like it was cooked from frozen a few halved baby potatoes and some dried out green beans). When I went up to pay the bill I spoke to the duty manager to advise her of the issues as no one had approached us while we were dining to see how our food was or to ask if we needed anything. Anyone we did speak to never returned. She listened to my complaints and said she would take it on board. When she presented me with the bill I saw we had been given a wing main instead of the starter I had ordered, and the pizza we had been given was an adults instead of the childs we had ordered ( I noted this as it arrived but my four year old was so hungry she started eating and there was no one to advise of the error). The duty manager changed this and I paid and went back to my husband. When he looked at the bill he saw we had been charged for the chips whereas he had not ordered them and we assumed they were given as a side. At this point we had two children who wanted to leave as there was so much time waiting and we decided to leave without approaching someone again. Overall the whole experience in the Aaron lounge was shocking. The fact that the food and service both were so poor was surprising, and incredibly disappointing. Breakfast was fine (although pots of teas and coffees pre-made and given out rather than made fresh) the family room was a lovely big size, and the grounds are beautiful. The walk is a perfect length for younger kids and the zip line in the playground was a fun addition. Overall we possibly would go again for the setting and the family room size but would be avoiding the lounge bar.
