Hot water went out both nights Two strikes in two nights for Hampton Inn, Tupelo, MS. The Hampton Inn in Barnes Crossing is clean and quiet. They offer the best chocolate chip, coconut and macadamia nut cookies I have ever tasted. And the breakfast hostesses do a stellar job giving guests a good start to their day. On the negative side, the hot water heater malfunctioned both nights of our stay and required resetting for the entire hotel. While it took less than ten minutes the second night, the wait was pushing two hours the first night while the front desk clerk tried to troubleshoot the issue before calling out a technician. I understand maintenance problems occur during off hours. But it was discouraging that the front desk staff was not more concerned about the inconvenience of no hot water for their hotel guests.

Decent Hotel - Possibly Understaffed? The hotel is fairly nice. It appears to be fairly new or recently updated. The person that checked us in upon arrival was not pleasant. They should not be the first person you encounter upon arrival at a hotel. Our room was ok, but had some issues. The microwave was just on. As in, it would not shut off. I finally had to pull it out of the cabinet and unplug it to shut it off. The bathroom appeared clean at first glance, but upon inspection was dirty in the corners and the bathtub. There were MANY long black hairs on the shower wall (no one in my family has black hair). The breakfast area was a disaster when I we went down for breakfast. To be fair, it was busy. However, there appeared to only be one person working the entire breakfast area, which was obviously not enough staff. They were having difficulty just keeping up with the food demand. There was no effort being put into cleaning. Personal pet peeve - I made a reservation for (5) people. When we arrived, our room was ready for (2) people. There were (2) towels. There was no bedding for the sleeper sofa.

Nice, clean and relatively new facility Outstanding facility. Wonderful staff, excellent breakfast. A clean and friendly environment. Would stay again. Close to restaurants and shopping. Wide variety of eats close by. A warm and friendly environment. Room was quiet, even being close to a major highway.

Friendly service We stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites Tupelo/Barnes Crossing on our way back to Atlanta after an Ole Miss football game. Despite our late arrival, parking was not an issue and the front desk clerk was very welcoming. My only complaint was the A/C unit. It was old-style, making the room feel musty and damp. Kind of frustrating, but we tried to remedy the situation by putting the unit on "Dry" during the night and turning the temperature up a few degrees. Not sure if that helped or not, to be honest, but we weren't about to call the nice man at the front desk since it was after 1:00 AM when we finally went to bed. Would I stay here again? Perhaps. But I would definitely get the A/C straightened out -- and I would also make sure the alarm on the nightstand was not set (something I regretted at 6:00 AM). Ha!

Best Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in This is the best Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in over a long number of years. The hotel seems somewhat new and everything was in top form. The accommodations were all great. The breakfast area and offerings were the most I have seen in a long time . The lady working breakfast was friendly and brought me some sugar free syrup. I would stay again if ever in the area.
