Too busy Overall, great hotel, exceptional location- but when you have to wait for everything, it loses its lustre. We booked our family vacation nearly 6 months ago, coordinating flights with the 3PM in time. We arrived just before that to be told that check in had changed recently to 4PM. Wenwwrr new version informed of the change. At 4PM we were told they had “no idea” when our Suite would be ready because they are ‘at capacity/sold out’. My issue is capacity isn’t just physical capacity- service capacity is what they should be focused on. If you can meet your service obligations, then you don’t fill every last room!

Love Hate Relationship We use the Avida Spa at the Westin Bayshore and today I decided to have a leisurely coffee while my husband has a treatment. I arrived at 10am at the restaurant and waited for 30 minutes to be seated. The lounge area was filled with people waiting. I was told they close at 10:30am for breakfast. At 10:35 I was shown to the booth. I watched as numerous hotel guests got turned away. This hotel is akin to a resort hotel with endless activities outside its doors. The facilities need to be available for guests on a more relaxed schedule. What is wrong with breakfast flowing into lunch. What’s wrong are the missed opportunities! We do not stay at the Bayshore anymore because of this problem.

Busy While i love the location and the rooms are nice, our stay did not compare to past visits. We attempted to go to the pool everyday, including right at 9 am one day, and it was either packed (with no chairs or standing room), or there were towels on most of the chairs with no people. Despite staff being around it seemed to be common practice to leave a towel on a bunch of chairs and take off. We booked this hotel specifically for the outdoor pool and didn't get to use it. We also had the same issue with the bikes. They were never available. When they were finally available on our checkout day we were told it was too late and we were unable to use them. These were the two main reasons we booked this hotel (for our weekend away without kids) so we were disappointed.

Not a 4-star hotel - adjust expectations Some rooms are really outdated, as mentioned by another recent review, and we, unfortunately, got one of them. It was tiny in addition to numerous other issues: - phone didn't work (there was also a temporary internet outage, which was fine, but in addition to that, our phone made loud buzzing noises and had to be fixed) - shower/bathtub were quite small considering the rating of the hotel - A/C unit was loud and only had one fan setting - it was either on & blasting or off - room service is only offered on the weekend - towels were not nice - the vanity's faucet in our bathroom leaked when in use - housekeeping was really inconsistent - while we agree that we didn't need daily housekeeping, whenever we DID request it, we got a random level of service. Some days towels weren't replaced, sometimes they were. Same with the daily soaps/etc. We had to call down and ask for stuff a few times, which was just odd. On the plus side, the location/view is really ideal and walking or running along the harbour is a nice way to start or end your day.
