“Okay For The Money” I stayed here for six nights, while visiting the area. Carlos, and the staff; were very nice. It was also quiet. My three traveling pet (VA service animals) rabbits were also with me. Everything worked properly and there were no problems. However, I wonder when the last time that the floor was mopped really well. The bottom of my bare feet were dirty after just a few minutes of walking on the wooden floor. There were also some type of black skid mark stains on the floor near the door. The rubber matting on the bathtub bottom is in a state of deterioration, and I was wondering how the pieces weren’t stuffing up the drain. All that being said; it wasn’t a bad bargain for the price, and I would stay here again. I’ll give it a good rating of two rabbit ears up!! ( ( ( -.-) o_(“)(“)

Robbed and Bed Bugs Our family booked 3 rooms at the Red Roof over Christmas as we were visiting family living in Norfolk, Virginia for Christmas. We arrived on the 24th and checked out on the 27th. First bad news: On the 25th my son complained of a bite on his arm that we couldn’t identify. By the morning of the 27th he had 2 more bites and he found a large bed bug in his bed. We were told they could not reimburse us for the room until the exterminators had examined the room. We left the live bug in a cup in the room. One week went by and we did not hear from them. After calling several days in a row, my call was returned to say they found no bed bugs and as a curtesy they would refund one night. Room 156 definitely has bed bugs. Second bad news: Returning to our room 162, we found the door open and we had been robbed. No indication of forced entry and that particular room has no security camera footage, which would look like an inside job. Again, the management was little help. Police report was filed. I would never return to this establishment and now I know to ask for a room with security footage available wherever I go.

Traveled With Pet To Red Roof Average accommodations. Stairs to the second floor were a little rickety. Room 230. Keys took multiple tries to work. To enter the room had to lift the handle up, not push down. Nearing the room, it smelled of weed. Inside the room smelled faintly of smoke. The bed was comfortable. The metal frame around the bed sounded like a gong every time you accidentally kicked it. The bathroom was fine, except for the hole kicked in the door. The faucet dripped constantly. The television had one channel - QVC. Informed the front desk, they said they will try to fix it. Something must have occurred, because when I came back to the room it had changed. Still only had one channel, but it was Univision in Spanish. Don't speak Spanish fluently, but at least it was more entertaining than QVC. Traveled with my pet, that was the main reason for staying at a Red Roof. Didn't hate the place, but there's definite room for improvement.

Private entrance but very small and bed unfortunately I have an elderly dog who has trouble walking so we always choose someplace with a private entrance, this was the best rated place that met our requirements in the area. There was room to walk the dog and we got the first floor room we needed to avoid steps. The room appeared clean, but when my dog spilled her water and I wiped it up the towel was dirty. The TV was dirty, and there was a stain on the bedspread. The mattress was uncomfortable and made a noise every time we moved. The base of the bed seemed like it was covered in metal that made a very loud noise every time it was touched. It is the only room I've ever had that did not have a small fridge.

Welcome to the home of Charlotte and her Family (Yes, we mean Charlotte from Charlotte’s Web) If I could do less than one star, I'd give this raggedy hotel a negative 50. This isn't one room, this is two rooms that was offered to a paying customer, my teenage/adult daughter. After she complained about the first one, she was given a second one. Both were disgusting. When she called me and I seen the first room, I told her to get her stuff and go ask for a new room. The second one was just as gross as the first one. I told her to get out of there and go somewhere else. She went to ask for a refund, but because she'd been there for an hour attempting to charge her electronics; they said no. I've been overseas living in third world country with dirt floors that look better than this. I wouldn't just not recommend this place, I'd say Run like the wind and never darken the steps of this hostel.
