Nice Property. Ocean View? This is a nice hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Restaurant is delicious. Rooms are on the smaller side, but usually clean and comfortable. Grounds are perfect. About an hour from most activities. I’m not sure how you don’t get an “ocean view”, since all room are on a diagonal that faces the Ocean. As such, I don’t recommend paying the premium price for an ocean view. Overall a nice experience.

Worst experience ever - avoid at any cost ! Everything was a total disappointment : all aspects of our stay were a major let down . Unsmiling check in , dirty towels in the non descript room, hotel has not been renovated for 30 years plus by the look of it. How can this place labelled as a resort when there is zero night entertainment only , a cafeteria for dinner and the single « bar » closes at 9 pm. only positive point : the café (managed independently from the hotel) and the gym. No service except for the cleaning staff who showed itself to be both understanding and flexible. Marriott will do itself a huge favor by stopping any affiliation to this place. Concierge unhelpful and absent. Sugary bland cocktails. Overall feeling was that of a housing project in a nice location.

Needs improvement Room was clean and nice. Pools are beautiful. However disappointed in the food at the restaurant, the filthy cushions in the lobby and veranda area. They all need to be changed and updated. The biggest concern was the concierge who booked us on two zodiac excursions without telling us the risk to persons with neck/back issues. No cancellations. Also said a late hotel checkout wouldn’t be a problem. My husband spent 2 days and multiple contacts begging for a one hour late checkout. The staff was rude and not accommodating at all.

So Disappointing…. You should definitely ignore any of the positive reviews. This place was definitely vacation hell in the worst way. $2k a night for a suite with rude staff, no room service, and where everything shuts down at 9pm. Marriott was always a mid-market brand, but my experience here was awful. The only bright spot was the awesome folks on the hotel beach that actually have no affiliation with the hotel.

Nice beach, nice pool but small room and shady people charged my room a 100.00 dollar meal Wife and I just came back from our stay at Marriott Waikoloa. The location and surrounding area was perfect. Close to shopping, stores and not too far from the airport. We loved the pool area and beach was one of the nicest I’ve seen in Hawaii. Perfect water and sand. Our room was small and on ground floor. Compared to cheaper hotels I’ve stayed in around the country, this room was tiny. Oh and parking is $25.00 a day. Insane. Front desk staff and pool staff were friendly. We charged some breakfasts to our room on two occasions. Upon checking out, I observed a $103.00 charge to my name and room from our last night. Problem is, it wasn’t us. We were in Kona when the transaction happened. I was able to see the receipts and someone clearly forged my name and wrote my room number down. I knew it was forged because they wrote the wrong letter to my first name. Which leads me to think an employee had my info from my previous charges and knew my last name and room Number. If I hadn’t checked, I would have eaten the cost. The front desk cleared it up and removed it from my bill. But given the circumstances I am betting this employee who did this has done this before. Keep an eye out for your bills. Would We come back? Not sure. The beach and pool were nice so we probably would.
