Would definitely stay here if back in the area This hotel met all of the expectations that one has of the Hampton Inn brand. It is located one block off of the highway in a quiet area but is convenient to dining and shopping. The young lady and gentleman working the desk during our stay put it above most others. They were welcoming, friendly, and attentive.

Refused handicap room after being told it was confirmed we had one I’m writing this review based on my experience before even checking into the hotel. I made a reservation through the app and immediately followed up with a call to the hotel on August 2nd to confirm that the room would have a walk-in shower. My father-in-law has only one leg and requires access to a shower chair. The staff assured me that the room was handicap-accessible and suitable for his needs. Today, I called the hotel again to request that our room be located near an elevator so he wouldn’t have to walk too far with his prosthetic. During this conversation, I was informed that not only was there no room available near the elevator, but the room I had reserved did not have a handicap-accessible shower. In fact, they had no such rooms available at all. The representative suggested that I find another hotel, but then informed me that I wouldn’t be getting a refund. I explained that we are required to stay at this hotel due to my son’s hockey team rules, and switching hotels isn’t an option. The representative offered no solution, stating that the hotel was almost fully booked. When I pointed out that I had specifically called this location to reserve a handicap room and had been assured it was available, I was told there would be no discount or compensation for the misinformation I was given. The staff then stated “the only things we can do is to move another guest out of a handicap room, but we can’t do that” that doesn’t even make sense! To add to the frustration, the representative implied that because I booked through their reservation number, they were unable to assist further. The lack of communication and understanding is unacceptable, especially when accessibility needs are involved. It is extremely disappointing to be treated this way after spending hundreds of dollars on two rooms for one night. The experience was made even worse by the language barrier upon making the reservation, which seemed to contribute to being lied to. When I called the staff member sounded to be foreign. It’s crucial that staff members fully understand and communicate in English to prevent situations like this from happening. Especially if it’s going to lead to screwing over customers trying to stay at this location. That or hire people competent on making accord reservations.

Will Never Stay Here Again I stayed at this hotel in 2023/October clean room and bathroom pillows were nice and firm not flat and uncomfortable. The pillows were very uncomfortable to sleep on and the bathroom was not clean, there was hair all on the floor and behind the bathroom door and along the bath tub area. Also I made this reservation in March/ 2024 gave credit card information to hold on room rates and stayed in April/2024 month ahead to the hotel for room rates and the hotel desk staff quoted me the price per night. The day of checkout the price that was told and sent to me in email for the night had changed and I could not get a clear understanding from the staff at the desk, I asked to speak to a manager and was given a card to call the general manager Shelby Smith on Monday. I called the number which was the front desk of the hotel and asked for Shelby Smith, the young lady put me on hold stated she was on the phone, I left my name and number and asked if she can return my call. Several hours went by and I called again and was told Shelby Smith was still on the phone, called again and Shelby Smith was on the phone. Called again on Tuesday same message. I will never stay at this hotel again and I will inform my family not to stay at this hotel again. When I come to NC I will go back to staying at the hotels in Raleigh NC.

Not a good stay Been coming to this hotel once a year for several years. Things have certainly slipped. Asked for service each day, assured that would happen (“you’re on the list”). First day it happened, that’s was that. :( First morning came down for breakfast pretty early (6:45) . There were few people present, maybe five got there before me. There were four (4) sausage patties in the container -total. BTW the parking lot was full the previous evening so not sure what anyone who came after me ate. 2nd morning. Link sausages, plenty of them, but they were not hot. Kinda warm, but not all the way thru. 3rd morning. No bagels, no bread what-so-ever so I couldn’t make a sandwich. No pastries. Had to eat a waffle. Went to check out and asked as always can I have a late checkout at 12 versus 11. As a Honors member that’s typical, you might as well have been asking for a free night. The response was not exactly supportive, but they did agree. The clerks facial expression said it all. 1st day, wife was in the room and someone opened the door. Block Lock was in place, she said give me a minute. When she opened the door, no one was present and no one was in the hallway. Raised the issue to the desk, just to be sure whoever it was should have been there. Told they would check it out, but told cameras on the floor don’t work. Management never got back and explained what happened…. Soooo who knows. Not exactly reassuring. All in all what was a good place to go has become a gone to, not going back.

Rest for the weary! Quiet hotel, not right next to interstate and yet still close to shopping and restaurants, clean, professional and friendly staff including Aja Ash at the front desk and Carolyn in the kitchen, large spread for breakfast, always well stocked, clean and great coffee.
