American Motel

Served our purpose well We traveled from Mpls to Waseca for a Saturday wedding. Hotel was clean and neat, but dated. Think 70 s. We needed a basic room for the night close to our wedding. It was perfect. Room was clean, no smells, just a nice basic clean room. Convenient to everything. Kwik trip across the street was more like a super market. Restaurant across the street, liquor store with a block and a walmart close by in case we forgot something. If you are looking for a 5 star modern place, this would not be for you. But if you are looking for a reasonable room for the night, I would highly recommend. We didn't see any breakfast there, but maybe we missed it. Kwik trip was stocked w fresh bakery, or BK and McDonalds right down as we headed back home. Recommend!

Life Celebrations/Family zReunion After reading reviews I am convinced people expect a champagne experience for a beer budget. This hotel was perfect for our family. When we get together we take over a hotel. The owner was very accommodating and gracious. They even put new furniture in the lobby during our stay which gave us plenty of seating to congregate. Our room was clean and spacious [upgraded to suite] and a new sofa and chair were brought in there too. I was charged exactly what was agreed upon. Will most definately stay the again when in the area.

Suicide Sleep in your car it's going to be cleaner and way more comfy. THe staff was nice but the bed was horrible! It's even worse because the original bed from when the hotel first opened many decades ago would have been more comfy. It's like they replaced the old worn out bed with older beds. Clean not. As I laid on my rock hard bed and stared down to the floor at past guests fingernail clippings and thick dust. disgusting

cheap hotel was ok told no internet due to a guest ok odd sure it was a lie but if u stay they tell u the same bs u know the truth jail and prison in the same little town and saw a lot of guests just for that reason told it has a federal prison family members come here to live and visit

Stay in Owatonna Tried this. Full time RV'r so usually stay at RV park in Waseca or one just out of Owatonna. Have tried 3 motels in Owatonna. My favorite so far is Oakdale. This was first time in Waseca...figured I'd try due to convenience. Not a good decision. A/C barely working. Housekeeping very questionable. I travel with two dogs & the first thing they found was a dog toy left behind by the previous guest. The bed frame is such that there is no way for this toy to get "lost" under the bed which means that the room was not vacuumed prior to my visit. I have to wonder how this toy was missed by the housekeeping crew who made the bed...the sheets did look clean & freshly made thank goodness. Rooms are very dark...lighting is very poor (good for housekeeping staff??). Unable to read while in bathtub...hard to do makeup in bathroom or anywhere else in room even with all lights on & curtains open. Requested a late check out...was able to negotiate an extra 2 hours for $10. No military discount available & management not willing to waive pet fees ($10/pet/night) or late check out. Will not stay here again.
