Did not stay there, But! We were scheduled to stay at this now independent hotel in Watsonville, just off Highway 1 north of Monterey, CA for one night. We were scheduled to be in Moss Landing for a 7:30 AM Meeting (about 6+miles from the meeting) and I chose this hotel through an on-line travel site, that offers air, car, hotel, etc. pricing and reservations. They showed this hotel to be less than a mile from my meeting site, along with a number of other hotels, further away. Upon arriving at the hotel after realizing that the drive from Moss Landing on US 1 was greater than 6 miles, and traffic in the morning on a two lane road would not be easy in this area, I told the hotel clerk that I would need to find another hotel closer in and that I would have to cancel my reservation, the hotel clerk was very understanding and released me from any monetary obligation on this short notice cancellation. He did not have to do that, and I thanked him. He also offered directions to Moss Landing other than US 1 because traffic on that road was totally blocked going south due to an accident. I can say from my brief visit to the lobby that the hotel, now independent (a former Motel 6 franchise) was very clean, and they were doing a wash/cleaning of the exterior of the building. As I said, the hotel staff was very nice and accommodating in solving my problem. I wish them all the success in operating this hotel.

Super friendly staff I read the reviews and was expecting the worst and hoping for the best. I got a great deal from Hotwire so I for starters I couldn't complain about the price. The location is good and bad. Close to the 1 but far from downtown. The doors don't automatically open and they only had one side unlocked that made dragging my bags in a chore. The front desk staff was very friendly and check in was hassle free. The room wasn't the Four Seasons but for what I paid I couldn't complain. The furniture was outdated but the bed was big and surprisingly comfortable. The TV took a little magic to get working (directions in the room was wrong), but worked. WiFi was good. Breakfast wasn't all great, almost worth passing on. The coffee was good. All in all not a bad experience.

I am right now scratching the bug bites from room 234. Witch has live and dry-dead bugs even ticks. They treated us like Mexicans when we told them about the bug problem. They tried to intimidate us and blamed the infestation on the customers who stay in their rooms. The TV did not work. We reported the problem at about 3:10.I even volunteered to install a different box they gave me 2 neither one worked. By the time they finally fix the problem it was time for my daughter to go to sleep. I have some bugs in a seal cup., and pictures of the bloody sheets and bugs. and bug bites. We are going to report this issue to the health department and propper authorities

NOT A DAYS INN! Total Dump, Rude Front Desk Associates You know I should have realized when I walked through the doors to check in and water was seeping out of the faux tile that this wasn't the place for me! The Front Desk people are just plain rude! They made me feel as if it was an inconvenience when we checked in stating that "we could have booked your room 8 times over". After a night in that dump, I hardly believe that to be possible. From the construction workers buffet outside my window and their excessive noises to the Mexicans and such that appeared to be high as they gave my female associates stares as if they hadn't seen a pretty lady in years! Not to mention the dirty walls in the bedrooms and the fact that I had to clean out the drawers before putting my clothes away! Totally the Bates Motel!

June '15 stay The staff was friendly, room was clean. Breakfast could use some help. It would be nice to have something with protein available.
