Near the Blue Ridge Mountain Pkwy This B&B is off the beaten path and offers a truly quiet, peaceful setting. Once you enter the front door you can step back in time. The architecture, furniture, decor are all representative of the 1800’s. The home has a very interesting history. The innkeeper has thought of everything to make you feel comfortable. There is a cozy living room, a spacious front porch. Breakfast was truly delicious and original. Mine was a cauliflower waffle topped with tomato, avocado, an over easy egg. There is a very quaint old town nearby. We stayed here because we had ridden the Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway and this was a convenient place to spend the night. It was a unique experience. Highly recommend it.

Newlywed Weekend This was my first stay at a B&B so I didn't know what to expect and after staying at the Buffalo Inn, I will be staying at B&B's whenever possible. It was such a great place to stay! This B&B is located about 15 minutes from West Jefferson and is situated in a valley that provides amazing views from your bedroom window. Upon arriving we were warmly greeted by Steve (Paps) and showed around the common areas. Steve kindly explained all of the amenities offered and answered any questions we had about our stay. Breakfast is served at 8:30 and let me tell you, Steve knows how to cook a mean breakfast. Steve laid out a breakfast spread like I have never seen and had enough food made for everyone staying to have seconds. If you're ever near West Jefferson I would recommend staying at the Buffalo Inn.

Bed & Breakfast Like No Other! So many things about this place has made an outstanding stay. The warm welcoming, the cleanliness and upkeep inside and out, the delicious breakfast prepared, the kids loved to see what daily homemade treats were waiting for them in the sitting area. Within 15 minutes from the town and so much to sight see. Enjoy the fresh air and beautiful views as you are well taken care of here!

Lovely home, but not quiet We were looking forward to a quiet getaway on our way to the North Carolina wine country region. We arrived and were greeted warmly by Susan the innkeeper. She offered us yummy treats and said to relax. This day must have been landscaping day in the neighborhood because just as I put a blanket down on the front lawn to read a book, Steve (Paps) got out his riding mower and rode right by me. I politely asked if he could wait until later to do this, as I was hoping to just have some down time. Then, later that evening the next door neighbor began mowing their property just as we sat down on the porch to eat our carry out dinner. That went on for over an hour. Then around 8PM the neighbor on the other side starting mowing his property until around 9PM. Next came the trimmer. The following day one of the same neighbors was shooting off a cap gun or doing something that was very loud and annoying around 7PM. Once again, we were just trying to relax and hear the river in the distance. They can't help what happens around them, but still it was not relaxing. There is also some road noise on a regular basis. The breakfasts were good and the home is lovely. If your goal is a quiet getaway, you may want to look elsewhere.

Beautiful Weekend My husband and I had a lovely Valentine's weekend in West Jefferson. Steve and Susan were wonderful hosts. We enjoyed hearing the history of Buffalo Tavern. The breakfast Steve prepared each morning was so good. We enjoyed sitting around the farmhouse table with the other guests enjoying a relaxed breakfast, conversation, and suggestions from Steve on what we might enjoy that day. Buffalo Taven was a short drive from West Jefferson on a winding road with beautiful scenery. It was my husbands first experience staying at a bed and breakfast and he was sweetly surprised. We had everything we needed with the added charm of a beautifuly restored antebellum and hosts that made you feel like friends.
