Winthrop hotel Very nice & roomy boutique style hotel. There are no elevators as it’s an older building. The bar downstairs was a nice quiet place to unwind. The hotel is right near the bay. There is no hotel desk clerk, so if you need something in the middle of the night, there is LITERALLY NO ONE to contact. The restaurant staff ck you in. They said the hotel owner is working on staffing a clerk. Otherwise it’s a lovely out of the busyness of Boston place to stay.

No one to check me in. Showed up straight from the airport. Place was locked and no one to check me in. Had a paid reservation and everything. I stood outside in the cold calling their number with no lock. Then I call Hotwire. They try to get in touch with them, and nothing. I then had to find a place to sleep, so I just booked this expensive hotel on my credit card. Never experienced anything like this. It was almost 2am by the time I got to my new room

Horrible Service On check in day I received a text stating that there was no front desk person working after 4 which is fine, I received my door code and hotel room number. She told me that she was the inn keeper and to text her if I needed anything during my stay. She then proceeded to tell me that there was no parking available and to park on the street- which is fine besides the fact that I had paid $15 for parking. I told her this and she said they don't have paid parking in which I sent her a picture of my receipt. She apologized and said she would refund me. When we got to the Inn around 1030 pm we noticed the comforter had a large hole in it. When we pulled back the sheets they had several stains and hair in the bed. I texted her the photos and asked if we could have additional sheets brought up to which she replied "sorry we don't have housekeeping on staff right now" I tried to explain that we would change the sheets ourselves and that she could leave them at the door with more blankets and TP. She just kept saying there was no housekeeping. She offered to give us a 20% discount. I told her we would not sleep in a dirty bed and asked if we left could we get a full refund. To that she replied "yes that is fine". Horrible service- we left at 11:00 pm, I refused to give that establishment any money for that!

Convenient airport hotel but ... This hotel is a mixed bag. Its main advantage is that it is close to the airport for catching an early flight. But its location in an obscure side street makes it quite challenging to get on the main road to the airport. The hotel was nicely decorated except for an ugly add-on air-conditioning unit that sticks out at the window curtain. Most hotels have resumed serving buffet breakfast but this one took advantage of the pandemic situation and suspended free breakfast altogether. They also eliminated staffs at the lobby, requiring patrons to send in a copy of their driver's license by e-mail to check-in, an inherently insecure process for ID thefts. Parking at the premise is not guaranteed. If it is full, you have to find parking on the street. I would seek better venue next time.
