Great staff. Property needs a refresh. It is ok. Definitely Needs a refresh. Staff is super nice and helpful. Whether it is at breakfast or front desk. Hot breakfast seems to be a little over priced, which motivated me to do a dunkin and Krispy creme run, but did do the breakfast twice and it tasted good. Will be trying the Marriott next time in wood dale to do a comparison as I will be traveling here often.

Lodging is very disappointing. I have been staying at this hotel for years. It has been steadily going downhill during that time period. To begin with, there has been a steady stream of management turnover. Most of the management doesn't even last a year. The same goes with the staff as well. There is one server that has been there for a while. The restaurant is no longer open on Friday and Saturday. On several of my visits, it was closed for the rest of the week due to the cook being sick. There is no cross-training, so no one can fill in for employee absences. Since the hotel is located in an industrial area, no other restaurants are nearby. The last time I was there, the restaurant was closed all week. When it finally opened on Sunday night, the previously mentioned server was bartending. The dining room was closed, and the hotel was practically empty. The server had the dining room closed, and one customer was at the bar. I ordered a meal, and it was delivered in carry-out boxes. That's right—I was expected to eat out of boxes rather than open the dining room.

Avoid this location To start, my room is 77° with no air conditioning, and the staff have offered nothing and claim the hotel is full. I've also found what appears to be dried blood on towels and housekeeping randomly walked in while I was on a call. I guess the room is otherwise fine, but you can't expect someone to stay in a hot room close to the airport where you can't open a window. I will not stay at a DoubleTree again and will be speaking to whoever is managing this hell hole in the morning.

Dirty hotel Avoid. Arrived after long day of travel to find a disgusting stain on my fitted sheet. Went to the front desk to complain and they did get someone to change the bedding. "Why isn't fresh bedding standard?" I asked. Other irritants - no microwave in room, no recognition of Diamond status, the buffet breakfast advertised actually cost $15 (not even free if you're Diamond and select food dollars as your perk), pool closed "for cleaning" and non-operable equipment in exercise room - pale in comparison. No one should have to sleep on stained bedding.

HORRIBLE w/ BED BUGS!!! I’m writing this review regarding my recent stay at the Doubletree Chicago Wood Dale -Elk Grove on Friday, July 12, 2024. This was our final destination on our family vacation before heading home on Saturday. I will NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!! Nor should anyone else. Upon arrival I asked if an upgrade was possible and the agent said no because they were booked solid for the evening (which I can understand) so next I asked the agent to split the room charge evenly between my credit card and my wife’s credit card (with whom I was travelling with) the agent seemed put off by this request and even asked my wife for ID after presenting the credit card with the same last name as mine which the reservation was made under. (Was this really necessary?) After the transaction was processed, he gave us 2 cookies we were travelling with 2 children he clearly was looking at and when I asked if we could have 2 more cookies for the kids, he said we had to share the cookies and we only get 2 cookies per family. I didn’t even know how to respond to his rudeness and just left it. We gave our children the 2 cookies. So next we enter the room #214 there were 2 large stains on the carpet as well as an empty space under the television which I assume once housed a microwave. (Pictures attached) Isn’t a microwave standard in all rooms? About five minutes later I entered the bathroom to take a shower just to discover that the room had no soap, shower gel or conditioner and only had 2 towels. I went to the front desk and asked for additional towels and the bath supplies. When the houseman arrived with the supplies, he gave me a ½ full bottle of conditioner and a bottle of shower gel and here’s something else I don’t understand the shower gel delivered was completely empty as well??? (How did he not know that?) He also didn’t even offer to remove the empty bottles from the wall and replace them so we just left them on the side of the tub. I had to call the houseman back to retrieve another shower gel. When he returned with that bottle of gel it was only 1/3rd of a full bottle?? He must have been getting them from another room and if they were booked solid that evening someone else got the same surprise we did when they wanted to take a shower. So next was the air conditioner we turned it on only to discover that it only discharged cold air out of half of the vents the other half did not work at all so our room never really got cold. (it was 90 degrees+) outside. So next we decided to go to the pool until the restaurant opened at 5pm. No go for the pool as the water can be described as “cloudy” at best. I can’t even guess what was in it to make it look that way. Next, we decided to go downstairs to the restaurant / lounge the lobby had advertised daily from 5p-10:30p only to be told that that area is not open on Fridays & Saturdays. Huh aren’t you are supposed to be a full-service hotel? What restaurant do you know that’s closed on Fridays & Saturdays?? Completely unacceptable. So, I had to pack up the family and try to find somewhere to have dinner. The hotel is in an industrial park area with nothing around to eat for miles (another reason the restaurant should be opened daily.) Luckily, we had a rental car. And when you think it couldn’t get worse there was breakfast the next morning, we intentionally paid an extra room amount for the buffet breakfast even though we had the gold member credit for 2 people just to ensure there wouldn’t be a problem with the children eating. They advertise a full breakfast buffet and did not deliver on that either. A Red Roof Inn brand would be embarrassed to serve what they were offering, as a matter of fact there were several guests that complained to staff members (loudly I might add) while we attempted to find something edible. The pastries looked like they were from an old Little Debbie’s box not to mention the other items they were trying to pass off as fresh. We ended at eating at the airport. (sorry I forgot to take pictures of the food) However, after all of this I can still understand how everyone can have a bad day until when we were heading to the airport and we started itching and I noticed BED BUG bites on myself, wife and children. (Pictures attached) Now I’m not only disgusted but furious at this hotel and their management team. I wanted to send this to hotel management however there is no email address listed for this hotel even if you go through the Hilton Honors App. (I wonder why?) All of these events are a reflection of the management team of that hotel or lack thereof as well as your BRAND! I suggest you immediately send someone from your corporate office to that hotel before they single handedly put you out of business. I do not leave reviews or even really complain however this hotel stay could not be ignored, and we were only there from 3pm to 8am the next morning, as a loyal customer and 10 year + gold member I want to feel valued and appreciated. I have grown to expect more from Hilton, false advertising and unsanitary conditions are something that should be important to a hotel and their staff, and I feel I owe it to other hotel guests to let them know the risk to their health and well-being staying at this property. Scroll through their other reviews and you will see what I’m talking about.
