Best hotel in Yakima This is a top notch hotel with a staff who is second to none. I come to Yakima weekly and always stay here. I am like family here and they treat me as such along with my fiancé. Nice clean rooms, great food with a full bar with some awesome bartenders. The management here will do everything in their power to accommodate your needs. Not sure what else you could ask for when it comes to a hotel. Don’t waste your time staying anywhere else. The Hilton Garden Inn is the Bomb!!!!!

Staff are racist There is a culture of racism at this hotel. From check-in to check-out the experience for BIPOC was under basic standard. I observed closely at breakfast how staff treated black guest vs white guest and it was clear that they had a sub-standard approach to blacks. For example, one black guest food sat for about ten minutes. I noticed several times the wait staff see the food and ignore it. When a white guest food came out they quickly got it out to them. Additionally, at check-in a white receptionist at the desk was accommodating to the white guest before me. When it was my turn, my king size room I had booked in advanced was changed w/o my permission and given to someone else. When I asked what happened she became rude as if I was suppose to be ok with whatever changes she had made. I demanded to be compensated and was--but the breakfast pass and the experience I mentioned above was horrible. This whole team needs equity and culture training before they end up being sued in federal district court for a discrimination lawsuit.

Expensive, but a top notch experience This is an excellent option for Yakima. Not only right in the heart of downtown and close to all that there is to do and see (albeit... not that much!) the hotel is of excellent quality, just as you'd expect from the brand. In fact, it's a step up from many Garden Inn's I've experienced. The property shares it's space with the other Hilton brand, Maison, but they were separated by a large and quite ugly parking lot. The hotel's lot is underground, although there is an open lot also. Whichever you choose, the hotel charges you for parking on top of your reservation, which I did find annoying. The comparable Holiday Inn a few blocks away offers free parking. The staff are super nice and friendly. Really genuinely warm and interested in the guests. The hotel is very modern, very clean and very chic, although once you get up onto the room floors, the decor does get a little outdated. There's a lobby bar and restaurant and it's well worth including breakfast in your booking rate, as that way it's much cheaper than buying it a la carte. The food quality is excellent and plentiful, with hot items cooked to order even as part of the buffet. Rooms are spacious, clean and modern. Clean linens and bedding, but there is no daily housekeeping. You will need to request housekeeping if you want or need it. Rooms come with a fridge, microwave and coffee/tea maker. There's a desk and reliable WIFI, although I did have to keep reconnecting on my phone, which was mildly annoying. There is a huge TV, but all I got was an error message. I don't watch TV generally, so I didn't care, but the settings need to be checked in between guests to make sure everything is working. Of my experiences in Yakima, this is the best property I've encountered. Rates are higher, but you get what you pay for. It's expensive to stay here, but you will get a five star experience for four star rates.

Noisy noisy noisy Rated as the best in Yakima, certainly in price it is one of the highest. Actually the hotel is very noisy. we checked out several rooms on the top floor. All with noise problems or external (car) or fans of the cold room motors of the restaurant or the motor of a soda machine in the corridor!!!! Finally to top it off we found leftover food from the previous guest in the room fridge!

Shady ** SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES - STAY AWAY ** When I made my pre-paid non-refundable one night reservation, their website and the Hilton app indicated that the pet fee was $75 for 1-4 nights, $125 for 5 nights+. This is pretty standard for a Hilton-branded hotel. I have stayed at several different Hilton-branded hotels in different states with my two dogs and been charged the flat fee stated on the website/app (ranging between $25-$75). When checking in, I was presented with a pet policy form to sign - much like many others I had signed in the past. I skimmed through what seemed to be boilerplate language and signed it. What I failed to notice was that they had added the words "per pet" to the pet fee section of the form, essentially charging me $75 more for my stay than I had originally agreed to. Classic bait and switch. Also, when I checked in, I was told that my credit card would be pre-authorized for $50. Again, a pretty standard procedure that I've encountered at virtually every hotel I've stayed at. Later that night, the hotel authorized an additional $250 without my knowledge or permission. I complained to the front desk, and they said that it was an error and would be taken care of. Later that day, another authorization was applied to my card for $172. This was in addition to the $50 and $250 authorizations that had already been made. So, the upshot was that the hotel tied up $472 on my credit card for a PRE-PAID one- night reservation to cover incidentals that should have totaled $85 + tax (or $160 + tax including the 2nd/inappropriate pet fee). The excessive pre-authorizations can take up to 5 business days to be released. I tried to address the issue with the General Manager (Linda Vallejo). She responded with a pretty snotty email. She saw nothing wrong with the pet fee or the card authorizations. She said that nothing could be done about changing the pet fee verbiage on the website, and said that she will ensure that the added "per pet" verbiage on the check-in form is pointed out going forward. So, still bait-and-switch, but they'll be more explicit about it... The manager's idea of a resolution? A $50 refund to my card... not even enough to cover the inappropriate $75 pet fee (money that they are not entitled to). These is a shady way to run a business. Steer clear of this place unless you to endure the stress and frustrations of their billing practices.
