Great stay at Worsley Arms Hotel Really wonderful classic country hotel in one of the most beautiful villages in North Yorkshire.
Very friendly and attentive staff. The proprietors are making a big effort on the food and the wine lists which were both excellent. They are not trying to do anything different here, just focus on the basics and execute very well.
Phone coverage is non-existent in Hovingham, but you can log on to the wi-fi.
Rooms maybe look a little dated, but if you are bored of the boutique hotel look then this is refreshingly old school.
We really liked this place, perfect for Malton and Helmsley trips and exploring the wonderful countryside.
Looking forward to my next visit.

Brilliant two night stay. Brilliant two night stay while judging at Malton show. After a long journey, we were warmly welcomed and shown to the room. Very clean and comfortable pillows and bed. Food is brilliant, highly recommend the pie! Cannot fault the breakfast and the price for a two night stay. Thank you to all the staff for wonderful stay. (Another bonus point that the staff are very friendly and approachable)

Worst restaurant in Yorkshire! We booked a table at the restaurant and we’re most disappointed by expensive but awful food. Haddock was brown and mushy rather than white and flaky, risotto was tasteless and had a strange potato croquet on the top, the only dish that seemed ok was the slow roasted pork. There were lots of flies, one of which landed in my sister in law’s food, so she couldn’t finish it… when we told the waiter he just said sorry, but offered nothing to put it right! The desserts were ok, but nothing to write home about, and by the time I’d seen flies crawling over all the clean cups, set on one side,my appetite was completely lost! I would recommend anyone to avoid this place at all costs !

Fantastic food We ate here two nights running as the food was so delicious. By far the best Steak & Ale pie we have ever had. The meals and desserts were so flavoursome and great service too.
We sat in the bar area as we have a dog (Evie) and they even brought out a sausage for her on both occasions.
A lot of locals clearly use the hotel bar and were really friendly and welcoming too. Lovely place, highly recommend.

Good Find for Sunday Evening Meal We are a couple staying locally and were looking for an evening meal on a Sunday, all pubs stop serving in the afternoon. Happened upon this hotel by accident and took a chance. Very nice meal and friendly staff, a very lucky find. Highly recommend, we even took away a nice bottle of Merlot to enjoy at our Airbnb which was excellent value at £10
