  • Vetro Winery Store
More than a century ago, Bill Vetrano's grandfather began making wine in Sicily?a tradition he passed down to his son and grandson, who brought the tradition to his own Wisconsin vineyard in 2002. With help from his wife, La Verne, Vetrano oversees wine production and welcomes groups through Vetro's wine-colored front door for tastings and tours. As they sip, visitors can try wines that fall into six categories: red, white, dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet, and sweet, such as a red cherry wine or a semi-sweet riesling.

  • Winneshiek Wildberry Winery
Winneshiek Wildberry Winery specializes in whisking oenophiles away, whether that means an all-day getaway to the vineyard, or a seconds-brief retreat in the form of a satisfying sip. 20 plus wines are made on-site, concocted with grapes that are almost entirely local. They range from the tangy-sweet Cranberry Crush, which won gold at the Iowa State Fair and two consecutive awards at the Mid-America Win competition, to the off-dry red Kenyon Ridge Frontenac, which took home the silver medal at the Indiana International wine competition. But those who visit the sunny spot do more than swish and sip in the tasting room or out on the veranda. Visitors can also tour the cellar and vineyard, celebrate in the party room, shop for hand-made gifts in the boutique, or taste some of the winery's handcrafted truffles and cheeses.
