Since 2007, the Robots-4-U team has been teaching children a program of STEM—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Children absorb skills and knowledge through entertaining interactions with instructors, other campers, and robot kits. The camp maintains a 16:1 student to instructor ratio, ensuring children receive the proper amount of individual attention. Campers build robot kits comprising a brain unit and sensory appendages, which replicate seeing, hearing, touching and reading minds. Once the bots are assembled, children enter their creations into racing, dancing, and battle-bot challenges.
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Our school provides a unique environment and concept. We have a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere partly because our studios are in a house in "Old Town" Leander, TX that we zone for business. The best part is our Backyard stage where we have had numerous recital concerts under the red oak tree.
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
Teacher will have a overview of the fundamental studies among other pieces of work. The student should have a folder of some kind to keep their music together.
Students will also be asked to get a book for notation reading based on their level and the teacher's suggestion.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
HitMaker Music School was started by Mike Irene, BM, Berklee College of Music, in 2013 to bring contemporary music studies to the community. Mike has been working with students since 2004. Our school strives to bring students together to perform in the recitals.
What do you love most about your job?
Beginning with a student who knows nothing about music and then seeing them perform songs on the recital stage is extremely gratifying.
Many of our students understand the therapeutic nature of music and are growing with their music in every way. There is a close personal bond create in mentorship.
