Groupon definitely saved us money with a meal voucher included for less than the regular price with no meal. Lines were short and the Groupon worked easily. Wish a few more of the food/drink stations had been open so that lines wouldn’t be so long at the few that were, but we had a great day!
Admission for Four People to the Permanent Exhibit Hall
The Houston Museum of Natural Science is a gem not to be missed — a fitting description for a museum that houses one of the most dazzling gem and mineral collections in the country. During our visit to the main Houston Museum campus, the four of us explored all three floors of exhibits, plus the separate Cockrell Butterfly Center, which remains my personal favorite. The Butterfly Center feels like stepping into a warm, tropical rainforest, complete with an abundance of the most beautiful butterflies. If you wear colorful clothing, you might even get lucky and have one land on you. There are benches which are perfect for sitting and other assorted animals for viewing.
We ran out of time for a few of the other big attractions — the Planetarium, the Giant Screen Theatre, and several special exhibits — but they’re definitely on my list for next time. The museum also has a small café if you need a quick break, and a fabulous gift shop where you can even buy real gemstones to take home.
There’s no way to fit everything we loved into one review — if one visit can feel this magical, imagine your day here! And if you’re going through Groupon like we did, you’ll enjoy an even better rate for a fantastic day well‑spent!
