There's a sublime grace in the flight of a raptor. It's a grace that the birders of Ronin Air Falconry Service hold dear. So to spread their feeling of awe, they host falconry shows and raptor demonstrations, teaching both raptor biology and the history of falconry. Not only are these shows tailored to each group's age, but they send birds flying freely overhead to both inspire them and help them learn how to identify bird bellies in the wild. For those whom the falconry bug bites—and it's likely to bite anyone—group and private sessions divulge how to handle and fly a team of hawks, hunting falcons, and eagle owls. And so that team doesn't get bored—and so others don't lace the environment with poison—Ronin Air Falconry Service also uses its raptors
to remove bird pests, relying on the environmentally friendly technique of predator versus prey.
Ear-splitting shrieks quicken the pulses of passersby as they approach the Nightmare Factory, a forsaken complex comprised of two distinct, hair-raising attractions. Once they’ve crossed the threshold into the blood-splattered corridors of Insanity51, voyagers tiptoe cautiously past hostile denizens as a narrative begins to emerge. The tormented spirits that haunt these hallways are insane captives subjected to top-secret government experiments that have rendered them even more fearsome and better informed on tax policy. In Nightmare 3D, foolhardy explorers walk through a carnival funhouse that looks more like the scene of a mass murder. Distorted mirrors and shifting floorboards create a skewed, sinister sense of reality, forcing guests to ponder if they have passed into another dimension populated by their worst nightmares.
At Aqua-Tots Swim Schools, experienced instructors strive not only to equip students with water-safety skills but to instill a lifelong passion for swimming. To this end, they limit classes to no more than four swimmers to ensure individual attention, and they divide students into eight swimming levels to keep classes challenging. Once students progress to a more advanced swim level, instructors congratulate them with a ribbon and swim certificate, which students can fold into a paper boat and rescue from sinking. In addition to swim lessons, Aqua-Tots Swim Schools hosts family-friendly events throughout the year, from birthday parties to CPR classes.
The lights surrounding the dance floor go down as the bride and groom take their place at center. As the notes of their song begin to float through the air, they seem to do the same as they dance an elegant waltz. Weddings are the specialty of Spotlight Dance's instructor James Eason, and he can even get an entire bridal party two-stepping in just a few sessions without strapping copies of The Red Shoes to their feet. Wielding 10 years of teaching experience, he also leads private ballroom dance lessons for both beginner and intermediate dancers, teaching them how to foxtrot, swing, rumba, or tango.
The PASA-certified kiteboarding instructors at 361KITE can harness the wind to propel their boards across waves and catch big-time air above the water. With a strong emphasis on safety, they teach students how to do the same thing using top-notch kiteboarding equipment. During lessons, beginners learn all of the basics on land while more experienced students head to the water with their boards to perfect the exhilarating art of confusing birds. Depending on the conditions, locations of lessons may vary.
