Located inside I-270 in northwest Columbus, this Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed golf course is a rare find - built over 50 years ago. Mr. Jones thought outside the box in designing this delightful facility which includes twin par 3 holes. Each par 3 hole is actually two parallel holes complete with tees, fairways and greens. The idea behind this feature was to allow play to move at a more reasonable pace by allowing the faster players to advance ahead of the slower foursomes. Raymond Memorial was the first course in the United States to have such a feature. From the blue tees, this course plays to 6,812 and from the white tees, it plays to 6,424 yards. In addition the course plays to 5,969 from the gold tees and 5,113 from the red tees. All greens are raised and sloped from back to front. They are also large and severely contoured. Sand bunkers protect the front side of all 18 holes. Most holes have two sand bunkers with others strategically placed between the tee and green.

Opened in 1966, this Jack Kidwell-designed championship course bordering Big Walnut Creek offers mature tree-lined fairways, strategically placed water hazards and a unique parade of aircraft courtesy of the Port Columbus International Airport. Airport Golf Course is Temporarily Closed The Columbus Port Authority is directing a runway expansion project, funded by the Federal Aviation Administration, that will allow airplanes to simultaneously take off and land on the two runways located at Port Columbus International Airport. To do this, a new south runway will be constructed 702 ft. further south of its current location, and it's landing lights that are located on the city's adjoining Airport Golf Course will also have to be moved. This will impact 12 of the course's 18 holes and will mean that the course will be closed from September 2011 until the spring of 2013. But, the good news is that when it does reopen, the course will still have the integrity of the original Jack Kidwell design, but with a modern twist for the 21st century golfer designed by the nationally-renowned golf course architect Dr. Michael Hurdzan. In the meantime, we hope that the customers of Airport Golf Course will take advantage of playing one of the city’s other six courses – Champions, Mentel Memorial, Raymond Memorial, Turnberry, Walnut Hill or Wilson Rd. – over the new 18 months. Each one is a great course that offers a great value for golfers of all skill levels to greatly enjoy. Thank you and we’ll see you back at Airport Golf Course in 2013

In the early 1990s, Glenn and Lucinda Gulick had a vision to build a golf course in the rolling terrain of northern Pickaway County. You’ll get all the challenge you can handle from championship tees that measure over 6,800 yards with a slope of 125. But you’ll have a very enjoyable round from the shorter tees as well, thanks to the marvelous work of superintendent Steve Gray, now in his eighth season at Split Rock. After your round, be sure to experience the views of the golf course from the clubhouse and enjoy your favorite snack or cold beverage with the friendly staff. This 18-hole public golf course in northern Pickaway County is just 25 minutes from downtown Columbus.
