  • Live Nation
More than half a century ago, three partners raised a vibrant, multicolored tent on an underdeveloped industrial site and established the Westbury Music Fair. It followed its first production, The King and I, with a decade of top-name talent and Broadway musicals. Then, recognizing its place on the theater scene was permanent, it planted its roots as a fully enclosed theater-in-the-round. Expanding its repertoire to match its new digs, the theater showcased performers such as The Who, Bruce Springsteen, and Julie Andrews. Today, past a lounge blazing in purple and red lights, guests find that same circular stage hosting equally great musical acts, musical theater, and competitive musical chairs.

  • Wine and Design- Syosset, NY
In a way, Wine and Design sells personalized home decor?the trick being that its clients make everything themselves. The studio creates a festive environment for painters (especially first-timers) to create picturesque works of art that, after a two-hour session, will be ready to take home and hang on the wall. Depending on the day, you might get to create a moody landscape or a bright holiday scene, but no matter what, a local artist will provide step-by-step instruction to make sure it's as close to the model painting as you want it to be. Wine and Design specializes in painting nights for adults, who can bring or order (depending on location) wine and beer to enhance the party atmosphere. But kids get their own occasional classes, and specialty sessions offer crafts such as wine-glass decoration. Groups also descend on the studio to celebrate birthdays, baby showers, and being let out of their cubicles on corporate retreats.

  • Tilles Center for the Performing Arts 2012
It seems like everyone has played the stage at Tilles Center. The venue also plays home to local artistic heroes such as the Long Island Philharmonic, the Eglevsky Ballet, and an all-dragon chamber quartet.
