What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Our focus is fun and having a good time with all who participate. Come learn to play beach volleyball and meet new people who are also just learning how to play. Our classes are supportive and encouraging for each person. You will be amazed at the results and will probably make a new friend or two.
Is your location strictly for adults, or can kids participate as well?
Kids 14 years and older can participate.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
We were inspired to do this by the many requests from our beginner players who wanted a class that had other people at the same level as them. Something that was fun and supportive and so we created the class.
What do you love most about your job?
The BEST part is feedback like this:
"SO FUN! I had a great time and everyone was so nice. Plus Tim is the best!!" ~Nicky A.
"Thanks for the awesome lessons Tim Strong! So much fun!" ~Ansley V.

For the fifth year in a row, the Del Mar Mud Run is setting up shop at the historic Del Mar Fairgrounds. A sell-out event in each of its first four runs, the event has gained notoriety for its national TV spots and attendance by reality-TV stars. This year's race will keep everyone on their muddy toes, though, as a brand-new course will introduce different obstacles and a possible redefinition of true north. Participants can sign up as individuals or a team; either way, they can hit up a post-race foam fest with hot showers and a dance party.
Boasting the only 24-hour staffed access climbing gym and the largest gym gear shop in the U.S., Rock Fitness ensures its customers can scale to their heart's content at any time of the day. The indoor rock-climbing features low-altitude bouldering and roped routes that ensure safe climbing all the way to top of Rock Fitness’s towering walls. While experienced climbers and fitness enthusiasts enjoy the terrain of the facility, beginner and informal climbers alike can also partake in belay lessons, day passes, memberships, birthday parties, team-building, and special events. The facility also houses a full gym and training area, bubble soccer, volleyball and basketball court, cageball, a well-stocked snack area, and a variety of fitness classes, including yoga and spin.
Within the 8,000-square-foot Redline Athletics Lake Forest facility, instructors lead athletes of all levels through sport-specific training. Redline Athletics coaches have a lot of experience in a variety of sports—some were professional baseball players, some were standout college athletes, and one was a strength and conditioning coach for the New York Mets. The Lake Forest location has Erin and Cory Yoder, who played college volleyball at USC and UC Irvine. In addition to training athletes, they offer generalized classes in strength, agility, and endurance.
The best things come in threes. Just look at Neapolitan ice cream, the Three Stooges, and the MMTSC. The sprawling sports center offers facilities for three sports: volleyball, basketball, and futsal (or, as most people know it, indoor soccer). All told, the 130,000-square-foot facility can be divided into 22 volleyball courts or 21 basketball courts, perfect for year-round tournaments, clinics, and leagues for kids and adults.
Expert coaches lead programs for the above sports, as well as generalized, plyometrics-style performance training—always emphasizing improvement but never at the expense of self-esteem or health. Meanwhile, spectators and off-duty middle blockers relax in the restaurant, watching 10 high-definition TVs and feasting on meals far superior to the typical sports-center dish, the AstroTurf omelet.
