2013 NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee Rusty Wallace allows amateurs to feel first-hand how a real race car rumbles as its tires scorch a professional speedway. Participants can either ride shotgun with an experienced driver or hop behind the wheel to tackle the track themselves. For more of the genuine experience, drivers don the full array of safety gear before climbing or vaulting through the window, including a sleek racing suit, helmet, and HANS neck-protection device.
The staff members at Sylvan Learning's numerous centers understand that each child learns differently. Therefore, they don’t try to implement a uniform tutoring system; instead, they design custom lesson programs based on the results of a skills assessment using diagnostic tools and one-on-one interviews.
Tutors work with students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12, illuminating topics ranging from basic reading and writing to remembering complex algebraic formulas without having them tattooed on your chest. Many of Sylvan’s instructors work in local schools, so they are intimately familiar with common curricula and understand how to gear lessons toward optimal results. Camps and after-school and summer classes can ready high-schoolers for the rigors of the ACT or the SAT, or they can help students to wow college-admissions officers with their superior essay-writing skills.

The retail side of L.E. Gun Sales presents customers with hundreds of possibilities. A glance at their inventory reveals brand names such as Glock and Remington as well as firearm types from handguns to rifles and shotguns.
A fully licensed and certified safety company, Twin Cities Safety equips students with the tools and knowledge to potentially save lives. The CPR and AED courses—led by a firefighter with real-world experience—teach students how to provide basic care for breathing, cardiac emergencies, and sudden illnesses, at least until advanced medical personnel arrive to take over or conduct an extravagant award ceremony. Twin Cities Safety also offers first aid and safety courses for treating wounds, fractures, and other common injuries. These particular classes can even be modified to focus on a specific subject, such as sports-related ailments.
The certified instructors at Mind Sight Firearms Training comprising a family safety consultant and a former U.S. Navy combat corpsman, share their knowledge of firearm operation during three courses that focus on self-defense, including one specifically designed for women. Believing that safe gun handling is rooted in practice, they take their students to a semi-enclosed outdoor range to hone their grip, stance, and aim.
After his security team escaped unscathed from an attack during a refueling mission, AJ Reyer received an ARCOM medal with valor from the US Army. He served eight years, during which he flexed his teaching muscles by training 140 soldiers in convoy security. When AJ returned home in 2004, he became a law-enforcement officer, patrolling Minnesotan streets and eventually joining the department's SWAT team.
He channels these experiences into classes at Protection and Security Services. While his beginning students learn gun safety and shooting techniques, his advanced pupils participate in real-life SWAT training scenarios that incorporate room clearing, hands-on self-defense, and firing airsoft replica handguns while moving. AJ also teaches private classes on a limited basis.
