A joint venture between Cypress Hills Eco-Adventures and Elk Ridge Eco-Adventures, the Eco-Adventures 306 Collective invites you to experience the outdoors in new and incredible ways. At both of these sustainable, eco-friendly sites, you'll have the chance to:
Soar through the trees: Ziplining is the most-popular activity at both locations. During these two-hour guided trips, you can either glide among the lodgepole pines of Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park or sail through the boreal forest near Waskesiu Lake. Majestic sky bridges and nature hikes punctuate the adventures.
Climb into the clouds: 32-foot climbing walls offer four routes to the top, daring you to race your friends or test your own speed. At the end of each route, you can press a button to sound a siren and signal that you've reached the top.
Balance like a magician: Slacklines are long, narrow, and kind of like trampolines. They're easier to stay balanced on than tightropes, but they still require plenty of concentration. Positioned between two anchor points, they let you walk, perform tricks, or windmill your arms and say "Oh, boy....Uh-oh," while suspended off the ground.
Kachur's Golf Club's 18-hole course winds through 6,128 yards of fairways carved through groves of poplars and pines. The watery fingers of the Shell River snake through the emerald grounds, putting water in play on five holes and housing an underwater refuge for disillusioned golf carts. While hacking their way across the bucolic fairway chain, clubbers should keep their eyes open for wildlife, as deer, beavers, and foxes occasionally come into view. A beverage cart full of icy drinks slaloms the course at all times, deployed from the Club's on-site restaurant, where duffers can unwind and curb appetites not spoiled from sampling the flavours of discarded tees.
Course at a Glance:
Par 70 course from the back tees
Total length of 6,128 yards from the back tees
Course rating of 68.5 from the back tees
Slope rating of 121 from the back tees
Two tee options
Composed of nine challenging holes, the course at Hidden Hills of Shellbrook extends to 3,227 yards stretched over a canvas of emerald green. The course maintains its dazzling hue thanks to an irrigation system that keeps the turf quenched and repels the feral cats that like to nap in the fringe. Play twice intersects a meandering creek that trips up momentum for many a player, nowhere more dramatically than at the eighth hole, a 376-yard par 4 with a vicious dogleg right. Here, players must hold back on their tee shots to avoid overshooting the fairway, and then fly their approaches over the creek’s volatile waters. Golfers who haven’t paid visits since 2009 may also notice a significant increase in overall difficulty thanks to a reconstruction project that tacked on 745 yards that year.
