It was a phenomenal! I booked this couple’s massage at the Assembly location as a Valentine’s Day gift for my boyfriend and we absolutely loved it. He can’t stop talking about how great of a gift it was! It was also my first time getting a professional massage and it couldn’t have gone better. I read through the reviews before I booked and it seems like people were having the same issues that I had initially ran into. Here are a couple tips that helped me:
1) CALL THE LOCATION AFTER YOU BOOK THROUGH GROUPON. I’ve always had the habit of calling places to confirm my reservations if I used a third-party site and it definitely came in handy this time. I had originally booked Feb 15 @ 7:30p, but when I called, they did not see my reservation and said that their Wednesday night was already full. However, they were super accommodating and managed to move things around so that my boyfriend and I could keep our Wed appointment but it was now at 8pm which was still great!
2. LEAVE A VOICEMAIL. It can be pretty hard to get someone on the phone which I now understand is probably due to the fact that the message therapists are probably in the middle of a treatment most of the time. When I left a voicemail, they were good about either calling back or texting my phone number that I had mentioned.
3. FOLLOW UP AFTER APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION. The day of my appointment, I had realized that I didn’t know if the establishment had any COVID policies we had to adhere to so I called. There was no answer but I left a voicemail and got a text back less than 10 minutes later. I was sent a lengthy text that detailed everything I needed to know and included a link to an evaluation survey. This survey needs to be filled out by each person getting a message (so both my boyfriend and I had to fill one out individually). Once you submit it, you can be confident that your appointment is secured.
4. FINDING THE LOCATION. This is specific to the Assembly location since I haven’t been to the other 2. Arrive a bit early to give yourself a little time to find the place. When you put the address into a GPS, it will lead you to a building a little further down the same street that looks run down and abandoned which is obviously not the right location. The massage center is located in a complex called Assembly (it’ll be the only lighted and non-residential, non-abandoned looking structure on the street). The long text you get with the survey link will also detail what to look for so you can located the massage center.
5. DOOR MAY BE LOCKED. The door can be locked upon arrival, but don’t be discouraged! It’s probably for safety reasons which is understandable. Just contact the location and someone will let you in. At first I called, but no one picked up so I left a voicemail. I also sent a text to the same number they sent the survey link from just to be sure. My boyfriend and I didn’t wait for more than 5-7 minutes before the door was opened.
