  • Six Flags Fiesta Texas
The vibrant colors of the iconic tower ride, simply known as Scream, lure visitors from miles away towards the inviting and exciting Six Flags Fiesta Texas. And if it wasn't easy enough to find, the screams of joy coming from Scream can guide your way towards this ultimate destination for family fun. Much more than a theme park, Six Flags Fiesta Texas is a shrine to the Lone Star State itself, filled with thrills, culture, variety, and flavor. Read on to learn about some of the park's most exciting attractions: Goliath: It's thrilling enough to ride a roller coaster that climbs 10.5 stories and soars through 2,693 feet of twists and spirals at 50 miles per hour. But when you ride this steel inverted beast, you'll be doing it with your feet dangling. Did we mention the jaw-dropping vertical loop, the two corkscrews, and the zero-gravity heartline spin? SUPERMAN Krypton Virtual Reality Coaster: A partnership between Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Samsung Gear VR, and Oculus, this ride equips passengers with wireless headsets that transport them to a high-res, 360-degree world where they'll be saved by SUPERMAN himself. White Water Bay: This sprawling water park featuring large pools, lazy rivers, and raft rides where there's something for everyone. Brave the waves in the 500,000-gallon Lone Star Lagoon (it's even shaped like the state of Texas), take a Texas Tumble down six stories of curvy rapids, or take the kids to clamber over the Splashwater Springs and the Texas Treehouse. And if you like your slides fast, it's hard to beat the new Bahama Blaster, the world's steepest water slide,

  • Morgan's Wonderland
Gordon Hartman spent 22 years as a homebuilder, helming Gordon Hartman Homes and related real-estate endeavors. In 2005, however, Gordon walked away from his business to create something bigger: Morgan's Wonderland, a nonprofit theme park named for his daughter, who has physical and cognitive challenges. At first glance, Morgan's Wonderland seems like a standard amusement park. But a closer look reveals a place that promotes inclusivity—not just in its mission, but in its construction. Designed with individuals with special needs in mind, the park offers plenty of fun rides, such as traditional, adaptive, and wheelchair swings, as well entertainment like interactive shows and a roving group of superheroes who've transformed their disabilities into super abilities. That's only the beginning, though. Read on to learn about how Morgan's Wonderland stacks up by the numbers: The $34 million, 25-acre amusement park opened in 2010. The sprawling site is home to more than 25 attractions, including an 8-acre catch-and-release fishing lake, an 18,000-square-foot special-events center, and a 575-seat amphitheater. The amusement-park rides include the 5.5-story-tall Whirling Wonder, a colorful ferris wheel featuring 12 gondolas, and an elaborate carousel with specially designed wheelchair chariots. The latter was named one of America's best by Travel + Leisure in 2012. There's no shortage of entertainment, either. Guests can stop by Sensory Village, which houses the Saddle-Up Stable's two mechanical Equicizer horses. Visitors can attend Starlight Amphitheater's live-action stage shows and interactive performances, such as "The Adventures of Wonder & Stinger," the story of two dogs finding new friends and a new home at the park. The fun center is also home to stunning views. The Walk & Roll Path, for example, offers panoramic looks at both Morgan's Wonderland and Toyota Field. Meanwhile, Doug Roper’s 25-foot-tall Taking Flight sits at the park's entrance. As the largest cast-bronze sculpture in San Antonio, it was made with 800 pounds of clay, 1,500 pounds of steel, and 6,200 pounds of bronze.

  • The Amazing Mirror Maze
Narcissus would certainly be at home in the Ultimate Mirror Maze Challenge, though he'd surely never find his way out once surrounded by infinite hordes of his own reflection. Maze visitors not distracted by their own chiseled jawlines must find their way through endless circles and dead-end paths in the black-lit, mirror-lined cavern. Once they've emerged victorious from the winding corridors, they can celebrate by morphing their appearances in "funky mirrors"—stretching themselves out, making themselves stout, or masquerading as clusters of beanpoles. Inside The Vault Laser Beam Challenge, players race the clock, dodging bright-green laser beams and maneuvering through tricky webs, careful to avoid breaking the light stream. They can play as many times as they wish to perfect their beam-evasion techniques or to practice craftily returning stolen art to museums.

  • Kiddie Park San Antonio
In 1925, Kiddie Park first opened its doors, and since then, generations of kids have flocked to the park, and its classic rides. After a renovation in 2009, the grounds were augmented with modern facilities such as a new entrance. The revamping efforts proved fruitful, and the San Antonio Current lauded the facility as the Best Kid-friendly Park (& Comeback Story) in 2010. Now more than 85 years after its opening, Kiddie Park welcomes visitors for days of fun and nostalgia. A train winds through turns, while a ferris wheel proffers elevated views of the historic grounds and lollipops stuck in visitors' hair. Hand-carved in 1918, the park's flagship Herschell Spillman carousel still beckons visitors aboard its decades-old horses. Elsewhere, a snack bar tempts taste buds with classic treats such as funnel cakes and cotton candy.

  • Power Swing Sportsplex
Encompassing an 11,000-square-foot indoor batting arena, an air-conditioned clubhouse filled with training videos, and an outdoor plot of screen-enclosed batting cages, Power Swing's facilities help train baseball and softball players of all ages and skill levels. Instructors train students in four private pitching tunnels and let them practice on a turf infield or field hits from regulation-size pitching mounds. Outside, players swing at four T-ball cages, or return machine-pitched volleys from 10 baseball pitchers and nine softball pitchers that launch balls and unwanted vases at up to 80 miles per hour. A team of coaches, many of them former athletes, can also help students hone pitching and hitting skills in private, semiprivate, and small-group lessons, and lead instructional clinics and athletic afterschool programs.
