Showcasing their tonal talents from the Washington D.C. area to their latest Houston-area locale, the staff of Just Rock Enterprises helps guests live their musical dreams by offering private lessons in voice, piano, stage choreography, and songwriting. Instructors customize lessons to fit each student’s needs, offering unique ways of imparting knowledge such as conducting lessons via Skype or by corralling several interested parties into small-group summer camps.
For more than a decade, Middle C Music has equipped songcrafters with the instruments and expertise needed to articulate their own sonic expressions. Racks of guitars and ukuleles hang from the shop’s walls, along with accessories such as sheet music, songbooks, and extra sets of limbs for playing double guitars. Orchestral instruments by the likes of Bach, Jupiter, and Cannonball are available for purchase or month-by-month rentals. The shop also curates a team of musical experts of various disciplines for weekly lessons and Rock Band camps, where kids spend five days learning to play as an ensemble and spin their own interpretations of rock classics.
"Learning to play music should be fun" states Bach to Rock's philosophy. "It's called play for a reason." This warm, inviting spirit permeates everywhere students work individually or in groups with seasoned players to improve their skills in guitar, voice, drums, piano, keyboard, and even in turntables. They then put their musicianship to practical use in extended jam sessions, learning how to be expressive and glue their instrument back together after smashing it. Once pupils have progressed to a professional level, they can check out Bach to Rock's professional recording studio, which are open to artists who want to lay down tracks for an album or fine-tune their already-existing songs.

At Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, students can learn to throw a pot. But no clay will be harmed during the process, as "throwing a pot" in ceramics terms means making a pot on a ceramics wheel. And the arts center has plenty of wheels to practice with.
For the center's students, who range from pre-K kids to adults, opportunities to try other disciplines abound, too. Since 1972, the teachers have been sharing passions that range from dance and visual arts to music and photography. They encourage students to expand their creative horizons in classes that cover such topics as theater, graffiti art, creative writing, and ballet. They even teach students to develop photos in the center's darkroom, which is 100% free of monsters and boogeymen. Capitol Hill Arts Workshop also offers tuition assistance and payment plans if necessary.
In a CBS piece entitled "Best Places for Guitar Lessons in D.C.," the following was said of Georgetown Guitar Academy: "If you want to learn classical guitar from the best in D.C., Piotr Pakhomkin is certainly one of them."
A Russian-American guitarist, Pakhomkin has won first place at a number of international competitions. He's also dazzled crowds and pupils at renowned venues across the globe as a solo recitalist, concerto soloist, and masterclass instructor. Today, inside of his spacious, 1,100-square-foot studio, Piotr trains both beginners and professional-level students the ways of classical, Spanish, and acoustic guitar. He also offers online lessons to international students, which means that they don't have to travel to the states or learn via really loud, transatlantic yelling.
