On weekdays at Fight Capital Training Center, the sounds of boxing gloves smacking against sparring pads and punching bags can be heard until midnight. While it's fair to blame the noise on the participants of the gym's late-night boxing sessions, it's probably more fair to blame it on the fanatic trainers who scheduled them. Led by Skipper Kelp, a boxer with more than 130 amateur and professional matches under his belt, the gym's crew of current- and ex-fighters brings passion and experience to their fitness programs, which include boxing, mixed martial arts, Brazilian jiu jitsu, muay Thai, and wrestling. However, the center isn't all about punching, kicking, and roaring intimidatingly like a bear—the facility also stages fitness-minded classes, such as conditioning and boot camps.
