Havana Film Festival
Havana Film Festival New York showcases underrepresented films from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Latinos living in the U.S. This year's festival features a retrospective on filmmaker Gerardo Chijona, whose work has appeared in Sundance, among other places, such as the back of his brain. On Friday, April 8, view a Sundance 2011 official selection at the Quad Cinema with Chijona's Boleto al Paraíso, or Ticket to Paradise, which records the journey of a runaway teenager and a young boy in search of a paradise wherein everyone is born with 3-D goggles. Works by other directors, such as Ernesto Díaz Espinoza's Mandrill, will also be shown at Quad Cinema during the festival.
