About Dr. Trahan-Olympus Center

Isatis, forsythia, and echinacea are herbs that Dr. Christopher Trahan, Doctor of Oriental Medicine (O.M.D.), prescribes to treat many illnesses–herbs that have been used for centuries to treat a wide range of ailments. At the Olympus Center, the doctor oversees a full pharmacy of both Western and Asian botanicals. His extensive training—which took him to Sri Lanka, India, China, and across the United States— enables him to draw upon it effectively. He prescribes customized herbal regimens for patients after detailed consultations, in the form of concentrated powdered extracts, pills, liquid tinctures and homeopathic remedies.

As a Holistic Integrative Medicine physician, Dr. Trahan's utilizes an extensive combination of therapies, including homeopathy, nutritional guidance, and physiotherapies such as massage in addition to his herbal remedies and acupuncture. Dr. Trahan has served on the faculty of both the International Institute of Chinese Medicine and the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, espoused the benefits of holistic natural medicine during numerous TV and radio appearances, and has written a number of published articles, whose topics include Traditional Chinese Medicine, Women's Health, and Integrative Medicine.

I found him to be unresponsive while I was trying to set up an appointment - he did not return phone calls or e-mail. I was so turned off by him that I never scheduled a second appointment.

I had a two session deal with consultation. I arrived early for my appointment as he requested and had to wait almost 30 minutes until he dealt with his messages,Intern and taking out his garbage. The "office" is in a great professional building but his space is abysmal. Cluttered and looked like a obstacle course with only narrow spaces to walk through. Not serene, professional or tranquil at all. The room were he does the acupuncture was thankfully clean and peaceful. He openly discussed how he will stop accepting groupons and wanted to sell me discounted sessions for $95. He also sold me a herbal supplement for $23. All in all he started 30 minutes late and gave me a 20 minute session. The wait was longer than the "treatment". His consultation consisted of three questions and looking at my tongue. That took 5 minutes.I was so glad to be out of there that I was willing to loose the second session. He can be described as eccentric and quirky. Before I got there he wanted an online health survey completed but then never read it. When he asked questions about my problems he boasted he had hundreds of patients and could not remember everything. He said that twice. What's the point of completing a survey if you don't read it before or during your session with a new patient?

It took emails and many questions asked to finally get an appointment. The consultation was fine but the acupuncture was bad. And the doctor sell me herbs powder and 5 times treatments and asked me to start paying advance on my second groupon visit.
