The newly remodeled Capital Nails boasts a cozy, softly lit interior lined with six spa pedicure chairs and elegant light fixtures. Perhaps the most notable features, however, are the arched doorways, which the studio's technicians use as points of reference as they shape nails into perfect parabolas during manicures and pedicures. Once they have filed nails, trimmed cuticles, conditioned skin, the technicians brush on chip-resistant coats of Shellac, OPI, or Gelish polish that have been known to last for more than two weeks, or the equivalent of one full night of relentlessly clawing at the walls of a dungeon, followed by a hand massage. Along with nailcare, the staff offers eyelash extensions, permanent-makeup applications, and waxing services.
