Civic Ice Arena
The City of Melvindale's Civic Ice Arena is home to two rinks of ice for skaters to glide across during figure skating classes, hockey leagues, or open skate sessions. Novices can get their start toward bladed glory through a Learn to Skate class, wherein a skilled and patient instructor breaks down the activity's basic techniques for eager students. With entry-level skills firmly in their grasp, the skaters can enroll in a hockey league for adults or youth in order to add the skills of checking, scoring, and dodging hurled octopi to their repertoire.
